From my standpoint it would be beneficial as I would no longer have to wrestle with the school about recognizing me as an Independent.

Not living with your parents and getting no support from them apparently means I'm still dependent.

I've been wresting with these assholes since last year, I finally got them to review my Fafsa as an independent, but now I'm having trouble getting the fucking student aid report because of missing parental info that they aren't even supposed to be looking at.

I want to take a fucking flamethrower to that Financial Aid office and specifically the front desk idiots inside.

I know your pain, man. Just have to be patient with them, give them the info they want, regardless of how stupid it sounds...and eventually you'll get somewhere.
