I don't understand Ashcroft (or other conservatives)

ttlpkg......

Seeing as how I don't think much of corruption in our government,
I think lowly of those who actively support corrupt politicians, agendas, etc.

Basically, I think they're lowlife scum.

They are not the solution, they are part of the problem.

Well, seeing as how most who are truly independent are rarely heard...who are you listening to? explain who you're talking about.

As for standing for something, being part of a corrupt system is nothing to crow about. I don't care if you do two things right, and turn your head when unethical, immoral, hypocritical behavior happens.......that's nothing to be proud of.

On my extended stays(in other countries) in the past, (and any future ones), I engage in conversations with people, and it's amazing how they can know so much about our dirty work around the world, and americans don't, or refuse to believe we could be part of such behavior.

That is a reflection on the ignorance, lack of education, immaturity, indifferent attitudes of the public.

I am talking about people like Sen Jeffords(sp), I believe that's his name, the guy who is a switch hitter and swung the Senate in the favor of the Dems cuz W pissed him off. People like Ross Perot run for Pres with no chance of victory, only to be a "spoiler".

You are clearly a "glass half empty" kind of guy gympoppa. Of course there are problems in the system, it is not perfect. I challenge you to identify a better one. You and others always go on and on about how you have travelled and how it is so much better elsewhere, how you are so embarrassed to an American, blah, blah. You assume that no one else has lived in other countries? I'll bet there are many, many people from each country that you would name that are living happily now in the US.

America is a great place, warts notwithstanding. Instead of throwing my hands up and condeming the two party system, I would rather work within it to make things better.

I just can't understand how ANYONE can support EITHER of these parties....

Like I said to gympoppa. You can either stand on the sidelines of life and criticize the players, or you can get in the game and make a difference.

I'm not interested in identifying another one.......I'm living here, so this is my focus, if I move to another country, then your suggestion MIGHT apply. YES, it is EMBARASSING TO HEAR OTHER PEOPLE comment about negative things, somethings we do..that you may not even be aware of..doesn't it bother you? would it?

A lot of Americans need to travel and live in other countries, it will open your eyes, to some things NONE of them have no clue about. And from a lot of the comments posted here, it's OBVIOUS a good number of people haven't travelled anywhere, nor or they interested in immersing themselves in another culture. I refer to that because you can't buy that kind of education/experience @ Harvard, or UT.

No, I'm not a "glass half-empty kind of guy.....dude. I just watch you like others aligned with these corrupt parties ignore the shortcomings of your own affiliation, and fingerpoint, blame, incite hate, and demean the other party. That doesn't sound like anyone who's focused on improving their own shortcomings, or working together. You like others here, have yet to do anything other than fingerpoint...or only list a meager...incomplete list of accomplishments. That's a truer definition of half-empty, only telling part of the story. Ignoring the corruption, lies, and deceit. Now, when I call your party on it, you want to compare us with other countries, or tell me how many people would be happy to live here.......as though I should be happy with what I got. With that kind of logic, is that how you train, live, and work? focus on the good points, and downplay/ignore your lack of ability to bring/or improve your negative aspects?

Even though I wasn't talking about Jeffords, why exactly did he quit the repub party? I heard Bush largely ignored things he wanted for his constituents, until he realized that jeffords was going to quit the party, then he sent EVERYBODY to persuade him to stay......jeffords deserves credit for not following along with the sheep.........

Bush campaigned on a theme of diversity, compassionate conservatism.......yet, he's attacking Ron Kirk, who's known for working with either party (corporate or people), for doing the same........He's courting Hispanic votes, yet he's trashing a guy who he appointed to the UT regents board........

I'll never settle for such mediocrity, when there is clearly a need for improvement, and no effort except divisive behavior.

wassup NB, how's the table dance bizzness?

they're not addressing the problem, NB, deal with the corruption, stop it, stop these immature ass games....I won't confirm your choice, because you didn't confirm mine......sounds a lot like some sissy playing ball, and taking his ball, because shit isn't going his way.....

Stevie Wonder could see that is nothing to be crowing about.....I belong to one of our corrupt parties......because, well, let's face it, it's always been corrupt, and hell they did it to us.....

And they want to be recognized as intelligent adults. PLEASE!!

don't drag poor stevie wonder into this. we all know he's deaf.

hey chime in on the immortal juicer thread about not talking shit about our government. bitch please.

Well I have travelled and lived in other cultures and I am not as negative as you seem to be.

You are indeed a glass half empty guy.

Just because W promotes diversity doesn't mean he going to support Kirk just cuz he's black. Bush obviously wants to see Graham replaced by a republican. Nothing wrong with that.

You won't settle for mediocrity huh? So what are you doing to make improvements? Besides throwing stones?
