Husband's Test. Kinda High .. some advice please, gentlemen?

I Told You So ...
EF VIP
My husband is prescribed 200 mg e/o week of Test. Cyp., 1 mg Arimidex e/o day.

His last two blood draws have me concerned:

6/25/2009:
Testosterone, Serum: 1235 nd/dL (range, 241-827)
Free Test. (Direct): 41.7 pg/mL (range 7.2 - 24.0)

8/06/2009:
Testosterone, Serum: 1117 nd/dL (range, 241-827)
Free Test. (Direct): 43.8 pg/mL (range 7.2 - 24.0)
LH: <0.3 L mIU/mL (range 1.5 - 9.3)

I don't know what to do about this. I don't know what's wrong I don't know how to adjust things. His doctor doesn't seem terribly concerned but can this cause long term problems?

Everything else looks great, he had a CMP and CBC done and his numbers were absolutely perfect. In the past he's really started to feel rotten and tired if he's a day or two late on his shot. Now, he's just started a new thyroid medicine as of three days ago and he's had a definite bump in energy so I'm wondering if maybe we can stretch the test. out a bit ...

I honestly wish I understood this HRT stuff more. He's been on the same type/dose of medication since 2007. I don't understand why his levels would be so high now.

Incidentally, we're very careful that he doesn't get the blood drawn a few days after his shot. The last blood draw he was eight days after his shot.

the only change that needs to be made is to take it 100mg ew instead. no danger there. i dont understand the need for all that adex neither. i took less adex than that on 2100mg of test ew. and was fine with estro.

We just switched him to 100 mg every week, two weeks before he last saw the doctor. He had a draw about four days after his shot and we'll see those numbers around the end of October at his next visit.

You think 1 mg Arimidex every other day is still too high? His doc originally had him on 1 mg a day, I never had him take that much.

I'm fuzzy on the whole anti-e thing in general, more so when it comes to HRT. He's carrying too much weight so estrogen is sort of an issue (I know, I know, don't even say it. Exercise is a dirty word to him and I can only control so much of what he eats, hopefully we finally have his thyroid screwed down things might straighten out.

i need to speak to your husband about a few things.

as far as the estro a hormone pannel will tell if estro is ok. it just seams crazy to have to run 1mg eod on 100mg test ew.

He gets the Estrogen done every time he gets the test. done:

6/26/2009:
Estradiol 16 pg/mL (range, adult male, 0 - 53)

8/6/2009:
Estradiol 8 pg/mL (range, adult male, 0 - 53)

Actually this last time is the lowest it's ever been. Maybe I'll get a pill splitter and start giving him 0.5 mg three days a week?

As for the exercise, christ, excuse me while I have a momentary total rant: What can I tell you, Joe? He was one of those skinny bastards who could eat anything and keep a 26 inch waist up until he hit 30 then his weight slowly crept up and he's 55 now. He has a job that keeps him moving all day, so he's beat when he comes home. And as far as he's concerned, if he's tired when he gets home from work, how is doing something else strenuous gonna make him LESS tired. I can't tell him otherwise.

I've tried everything: He hates weight training, I mean fucking HATES it, hates stationary cardio equipment, hates walking, forget running (I can't do that shit, either), we don't have a pool (the public one is completely out of the question, and he's not into swimming that much, anyway). The only thing he likes is bike riding, outside, that's it, and 99% of the time he comes home and he just wants to veg out. I've really tried to get him to do something, regularly, but it ain't happening. I thought getting his test. levels up might help, but that's been nearly two years. I mean, he feels 200% better than he did before he started the HRT but he still won't work out, end of discussion.

How many times have we heard guys trying to figure out how to get their wife/girlfriend to work out? You can't make someone do what they don't want to do, that's a fact. Hell, I don't even care how he's shaped I just care about the shape he's in, you know?

Cut down on the arimidex to 1/4 pill 2X a week. You dont want to drive down estrogen to low as this can lead to bone and cholesterol problems. Wait a few weeks to retest as it takes 6 weeks to stabilize. Also your estrogen test may be wrong. Request ultra-sensitive from quest. 1117 is a little high but nothing to worry about short term.

He's not on the board, not his thing.

Talk to me via PM if you want, but if it's about trying to convince him to work out is like talking to a brick wall.

thats not it. someone needs to smack some sence into him about the real issue. :D

:whatever: I've never met anyone that didn't have a few flaws, Joe. He's a good person, a great husband, my best friend, hell, he's nicer than me. He's just a strong believer in personal energy conservation :lmao:
