How's my diet?

Trying to get body fat low.

Today my diet was:

Breakfast: Skinny latte (no sugar)

Lunch: can of tuna, 1 of spelt bread with organic peanut butter

Snack: Handful of 'super boost nut mix'

Dinner: Half chicken breast, bok choy, broccoli, onion, peas, mushrooms, sweet chilli sauce.

Snack: Banana, skinny latte, sugar free red bull, 1 slice of spelt bread w/ organic peanut butter.

Exercise: 4km run outside (morning), 3km treadmill, various weight machines, boxing (evening).

Water: Around 4.5 litres.

Would be pretty similar most days, obviously substitute chicken for things like salmon, beef steak, different fruits, oats.

I'm 183cm and weigh 87 kilos. Aim is lose gut to get flat stomach, potentially abs.

I'm sure the other guys will chime in but....where I always tell people to start is to plug what they eat into a food tracker, like fitday.com, and get a sense of how many calories/ macro break down you're actually eating. To me, at a glance, it doesn't look like you're eating enough to match your exercise, even with the goal of losing fat, and your protein looks low. And...to lose fat, especially as you get down into the lower numbers, you need to become more precise in your diet. That's where I'd start anyway....:)

Not enough food or protein, the skinny latte and sugar free red bull is making up most of your carbs and calories switch to black coffee and or a protein shake. Add another meat somewhere in your diet like lean turkey or a chicken breast. I would drop the red ill altogether, if your using it before the gym I would invest in a good pre workout do as Caligirl mentioned and track your calories for a few days then post the results you should tell us calories, protein, carbs, and fats. Also we need your stats to better help you like your age and bodyfat percentage maybe even a picture if you feel comfortable

Thanks guys!

Went out and bought some chicken and turkey breast to get more protein.

I'm not sure of my body fat...will try to get asap

Here's a couple of pics.

I'm 25 btw.

If this is your starting diet plan then it's fine along with some exercise. But, need to improve much on our stated diet plan. This would not work enough days, start consuming more protein enriched food.

if i were u - i'd say screw cutting and just go out and gain muscle and get jacked. You'll probably lose fat in the process.

If you wish to cut - high protein, easy on the cardio, lift weights and have a calorie defict you can manage. Being young, you can probably have a 1500 deficit and handle it. A 42 mother of 3 couldn't do that - but you can. Fat gone within 2 weeks and you'll be nice and toned.

Then gain muscle - you look wimpy.
