Not even rich anymore. If it's salary it's ok, but commissioned employees are really the only ones that can hit that regularly and they're either 1099 or taxed at close to 40% if they're payed W2. After that, $300K is good, but again, not that much.

That's why we have NUMEROUS huge houses being built where I live. People are moving away from the big cities and relocating here because they can build a house for $300,000 which would cost well over a million where they came from.

The recent housing market slump didn't effect this area one bit. It continued to grow where I live.
