But seriously....

I'd definetly have a limo / driver setup to go clubbing and such....

Maybe setup some porn sites with 18 19 y/o girls...

Boats.... I'd have at least one bad ass boat....

I'd like to have a house on the Ocean with said boat... not sure 500k is gonna cut it though... maybe with the porn income I could...
you would be cap'n stabbin'

As some of you know, a couple of months ago I was struggling with this decision.

While I make very much above average and what some would call an enormous about of money, I had the opportunity to make twice that in the $700-$800K range per year. ($505K was guranteed).

However, to accomplish this, it would require a move to Palm Springs. That would require some changes in my life, not just related to scenery as my partner would never come to P.S. with me. It would also lead me to cancel the plans he and I had for becoming foster parents as well.

On one side, I could effectively retire in 4-5 years and still have staggered commission coming in for another 6-8 years or so. (depending on the length of the contracts that various hospitals signed.)

On the other side, I would effectively severe a big portion of my life. If I were single and carefree, this would be a no brainer and I would be posting from P.S. right now.
interesting post AAP, much better than your movie reviews, thank you for sharing

not true! in another life i was executive sales for fat farm franchise. you had to provide financials before consideration. lots of ppl with HUGE incomes and negative net worth, living paycheck to paycheck on 5k to 10k a week! mostly physicians. most ppl we approved earned 80k to 120k combined! do the math on compound interest if you put back 400 to 800 a week for 20 - 30 years at 10%. big income does not = wealth....trust me, we are big income and no wealth. ( that is gonna change! )

Not much, I'm an arrogant ass about finding the "little" things that make me happy. I was a true believer back in the day, A warrior willing to sacrifice everything by choice. It's dangerous and objectionable on so many levels, I told you about the counciling sessions I had at 16...he set me aside and told me it was a waste of talent, he had been an AF officer but what did he know.....I knew first hand after the fact...:)
