im 15 185 and right now i bench 260 touch and go and in my inzer hphd i bench 275x3. i have a hurt hamstring and haven't squatted in like 3 months but its almost better, and i deadlift 415(in my z-suit). i have heavy bench saturday and every heavy day i do raw and shirted with board presses and reverse band presses. i deadlift monday, wensday i speed bench and thursday is when i plan on squatting. since I'm training for a multi ply meet in march of next year would it be wise for me to incorporate my gear in every training session just for a couple sets so i know my gear well and learn it? also i dont use any gear at all on my speed bench day. one more thing i ordered my multi ply gear but haven't received it yet but i have single ply gear and i use it a little bit every session but more than half is done raw.

My advice is to use it until you know it. For a month or two use it every session after raw training for a few attempts. Then once you learn it use it every 2-3 weeks. As you get close to a meet you want to get in it often and practice. The last month of a training cycle will be every week until your final Deload week. Over time you will find a way that works best for you, but this is a good way to get familiar with your gear.

Use code joeb15 for 15% of at Ntbm.

I've done powerlifting back in the day. I trained with a guy who used to hold Texas records for bench and squat in powerlifting. My advice (or at least this is how he trained us) would be for the majority of the year train raw. Raw training for say 3 months then put the suit on for 2-3 weeks. And keep repeating that. The raw training your gonna get a lot stronger than if you were wearing the suits year long. Then around 2-3 months before your meet train only in the suit. This way you really can perfect with the form it requires to properly lift in those suits and also have an idea of what you'll be maxing at the meet. Also within the two to one month range before the meet only do sets with 1-2 reps. This way your body will get adapted to the heavier weight and also your mindset will be used to only do low reps. That's just my advice though and I'm sure there plenty of ways to do it!

You got it. You want to use your briefs pretty much all of the time if your competing in Multi Ply and use a wider stance. It also depends on what program you use. I trained conjugate method and never really fully suit up until circa max time. The Deadlift is always raw until right up to the meet and the you should put the bench shirt on maybe every 4th week.

If you are really close to competition you will want to get in your gear each session. If you dont have a meet within a couple months I prefer gearing only once every 3 weeks or so. Once you know your gear and your form in your gear you can get away with not using it as much, you will however need to work in it a lot to break it in.
