How much steak is to MUCH?

Unless were talking about bodybuilding, no amount of steak is to much. I ate a 30 oz porterhouse thursday night, friday, and saturday. fuck what everyone else had!

One steak a week is good.... but every day is just insane. That's a lot of fat you're consuming. No matter what kind of steak it is, there is always fat.
I disagree. Lean cuts have about as much fat as chicken or fish. I eat a 6-8oz steak everyday. A NY strip will average about 34grams of fat per serving whereas Eye of Round can be as lean as 4-6grams of fat.

Mr.Stamina, Your eyes are the best judge of leaness not which cut in particular it is. If it looks solid and lean with little marbeling your good to go.

There isnt necessarily more fat in Beef, it just stands out next to the red meat and is easier to see.

So your talking about the Grizzle, I think thats the right spelling. The long strip of fat that is on one side of the steak?

Can't you just cut that off?

Grizzle vs. fat...I'd cut them both off if possible.

HANSEL, the cut is a good way to generalize the typical leanness of the steak. Marbling = fat that runs throughout the steak (like veins) which adds to the flavor of the steak. It tastes great (in my opinion) but is terribly bad for you. I don't think having lean steak everyday is necessarily "bad" for you...in fact I wish I could!

Wizkid, "No matter what kind of steak it is, there is always fat" -- I don't think that is being contested...just the amount of steak consumed.

I'm not an expert, but I did work at "Outback Steakhouse" for 4 years, slinging steak and pouring beers! I've handled a lot of meat in my day!

filet mignon

when I lived in Dallas, TX there was a place that would give you the steak if you ate it all---it was 72 OUNCES!!!!

I saw an old man finish it

so I think you're good to go :)

I think there is something inherently anabolic about red meat, maybe due to our evolutionary backgrounds. I think the human body handles red meat very well. Like Hansel said steak is not fattening, total calories are. Eating steak won't make you fat as long as you account for the calories. I wish that I could eat red meat everyday. I don't think it is dangerous, just try to eat lean cuts. If you lead a healthy lifestyle (cardio, weights, not being an alchy, etc.) you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
