Hi to everyone who reads this, my stats are below.
Age 24
5ft 11
177lbs
Not sure bout body fat at a guess id say between 12 and 15 percent.
Anyway as what my thread says, im currently having around 200 to 240 grams of protein a day and carbs are pretty low but not too low but i was wondering whether i should bump it up to about 300? Just worried if i would be adding too many calories whilst i am trying to cut with the extra protein?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

How long have you been dieting with that diet, and what is the rest of your diet?

240 should be enough protein for your weight, however, if you are a carboholic you may just need to mess with the carbs or the fat to get your results.

What does your diet look like, and what is your exact goal (besides just cutting?)

Yes we need a diet breakdown, too much protein will stress the kidneys!

10 litres of water a day should be your target if you are planning on 300gms of protein ed. Thats exactly where i am' today.

My diet at the moment is.

07.00
30g porridge
glass of fresh orange and 1 whey shake

10.00
2 rice cakes and 140g of tuna

12.30
1 chicken breast with a jacket potato or tuna and pasta

15.00
1 banana and 50g peanuts

16.30
workout

18.00
1 whey shake

18.30
steak and new potatos with cabbage and green beans

21.00
1 tub cottage cheese

Basically what my goals are is to gain some new muscle whilst in a calorie deficit if thats possible, i no this is hard when your doing alot of cardio and cutting back the calories but wondered if it would be possible if i could gain by adding more protein in there?

Honestly, look in the diet section and get advice on cutting / mass building diets. I think most of you problem with losing weight could be the Orange Juice, Rice Cakes, pasta, peanuts, and potatoes. HOwever, if you are trying to gain mass these may be good choices. YOu might want to sub the peanuts with almonds though.

Also the snack at 1500, add some protein in there. You should have protein with every meal.
