How much protein should I be taking for body building?

I've been body building for about 6 months now and I'm not sure how much protein I should be taking. Some people say about 30 grams a day and others say 1 gram / lb of weight.
 
Whoever told you 30grams a day should be slapped, lol. Just sayin.

Most scoops of protein have more than 30gms so that's not right.. 1gm per lb of body weight seems to be the most accepted

They probably meant 30 grams per serving, when your taking it in as a shake. I remember reading that before, years ago.

You do need at least 1 gram per lb of lean body mass to grow. Food is the best way, that's the way nature intended it.

30g a serving doesnt sound right........if you taking in 300g a day thats 10 meals lol......you would spend all day eating :-)

I just aim at 30 for supplemental protein. If a serving is dosed higher fine but i wouldn't double it up. That's just me though.

A meal is as protein heavy as you can get it. IMO

1g per lb? From the actual study and science oriented articles i've read a lot of it is dependant upon your age, build type, workout regiment, etc. Eat too much, body can't absorb it. Arnold in his prime would require more protein than an average guy trying to get in shape.
