How much does it cost to hire an interior decorator?? (dunno what I'm doing here, funny situation...)

Okay, so I just got into my condo in downtown Denver. I got it from a gay couple who was moving, but leaving the majority of the decorations on the walls, and all the accents in all the rooms. I dont have any furniture (couch, loveseat, coffee table were too big to fit through the door of a condo) besides my bed, and I just want someone to help me find pictures and other nifty things to put on the walls in the living room and complement whatever furniture I end up with.

The previous owners had granite countertops installed, and a brand new wood floor. The only thing I'm not real excited about is the track lighting in the kitchen, but oh well. Pics to come when I unpack a camera... just moving in today.

A lot of decorators work on a % of money spent. They negotiate discounts with suppliers and then make their $$$ from the internal discount they get plus a % of what they spend on you.

Just my 2c, but watch-out for the pay-by-the-hour ones. They'll take trips and/or schedule wasted meetings with you to get thier billings up.

If you are really lucky, you could find a decorator who gets discounts that are deep enough that they'll do it as long as you purchase from their vendors.

P.S. Go for a gay guy. They have interior decorating skills built into their DNA. I bet Pick3 can decorate a room in the time it takes him to click his heels together three times and say "there's no place like my boyfriends ass". Just sayin'.

damn, I was in a sports bar on the capitol in Denver watching them get pwned. On the flip side, I did meet a pretty cute girl in a peyton manning jersey that ended up sitting with me the whole game. Gotta lose some to win some
