I think might be more complicated being female but only because you have to prove you have some worth beyond a pair of "tits". But that's from a female perspective I could be wrong but I don't recall to many men told they only "got the job" because of their looks or LOL body parts.

true, but not many men have gotten a job because of their physical features, as I personally know that many women have. But that just makes it all the better for women when they get a job based on merit, doesn't it?

When I answered I specifically meant the EF board, do you mean that as well or do you mean the bigger picture of life and careers?

Either way, yes, it would be better when women (or men) to get jobs based on merit but if you look at studies (I'll try and find the one I'm thinking of) people (men and women) are ultimately picked because of their physical features which can be as simple as just being pleasurable to look at.

It is unfair no doubt about it.

If I didn't clarify - I am agreeing with you just adding to it..


Anyone remember when they did interviews for stockbrokers and they took real life successful brokers and very attractive men that had no prior experience other than a script to study for the interview? The majority of the men that were offerered jobs were not the experienced and successful broker but the "atrractive men".

Thanks everyone for the compliments and thanks Velvett for answering every question I asked with quite a bit of detail! As you can see, a lot of those questions were quite personal.

tuc: we all would have liked more talk of boobies.. and even pics! One of the tough things with this interview, being as it was the first female member interviewed, was to keep it from being a 100% Between the Sheets style interview. I know my audience, and I know what we are all interested in, but there is a lot more to it then just the sex stuff. I personally think it was pretty well balanced and there was a little something for everyone in there
