How Many People Here Have Said to Hell with 6 Pack Abs?

I am done trying to get em. I am sick of eating clean and I enjoy food to much to worry about it anymore. I am almost 40 so what the heck do I need with a 6pack. They are for 20 year dudes that are still picking up hotties. Heck I have almost been married that long. Like a 6 pack is going to increase my weekly average with my ole lady.

So I am done trying to get them. I will still go to the gym and lift and wakeboard so I won't get fat. But I am not going to only eat freak'n broccoli and chicken breast from now on to get some little moguls on my belly. Besides my wife says she likes it when I have a little gut.

Am I the only one or is there some other people here not willing to give eating tasty stuff for abs anymore?

I'm 21 and i don't particularly care- i realise girls like them, but i like eating what i want more than i like girls. :)
 
I've pretty much given up.

Though at one point I would like to have them I'm just concentrating on beign strong and learnign tricks on my skateboard and rehabilitating my arm.
 
Yep.....37 and don't really care about being pretty anymore. I've gone back on Cornholio's 3 Day Old School program....fuck cutting for the summer. I missed the gains. I'm grilling and chilling this summer.....
 
I gave up. I'd rather eat than worry about a six pack showing. As long as my abs are strong, I don't care.

you guys must be some fat shits. everybody has a six pack, you don't need a set super ripped abs to get the ladies, just a flat stomach.

I'm almost there...it's really only a matter of diet. :)

I don't see that you have to give up eating what you want to eat. You simply need to use moderation.
 
I do about 10 sets of abs per year, seriously.

I don't do aerobics, and I'm 35.

I don't diet severely; just maintain a healthy diet.

My serratus shows quite well.


I feel uncomfortable when I'm fatter, and quite frankly, I feel a lot healthier even at 10 lbs. lighter.

I hear what you are saying. But man I had to give up to much stuff to get a six pack. I mean I dig those awesome blossums at the outback and now I can eat them again. Man, they are good. Plus i eat a ton of sushi.

I still eat what I want, when I want it.

But, I have absolutely no sweettooth and don't really like junk food that much.

Now......when it comes to suicide wings......that's a different story.:p
 
I'm not going to get fat again, but when I started this heart-healthy diet, I lost some weight and in my mind, some muscle. So I freaked a little and started eating more, lifting heavier and it came back. I just gotta watch the cholesterol.
Fuck I miss cheese......
 
I like you have given up due to liking food,besides I feel married so it doesnt matter if I have them or not,I dont plan to pick up women

Still flabby in the midsection, i dont know how, ive lost 40 pounds. Im 6'3 and 210. The only thing i can think of is bad genetics, really bad. That and chest fat. I think of that 40 pounds 1/4 pounds came off my chest. Im stumped
 
I just realozed there is an Au Bon Pain nearby that sells Krispy Creams!!!!!

Anybody ever tried the malted chocolate donut? I hope they have 'em!
 
Having lost interest in women, I have no incentive to look my best since that actually hurts my business. Out of shape people don't necessarily want to be compared to in shape people.

Chasing women made me feel like a pervert anyways and our crazy society always seems to look down on me if I so much as pass a business card to a cute chick.

Oysters and peanut butter cups...now that is a lunch!
 
I'm 44 and I have 6 pack abs. It isn't that hard to do.

I just have to cut carbs any time my b/f gets above a set point.

The most I ever diet for is 2-3 days.

I said fuck the 6 pack a while ago. I am concentrating on gains right now. Somehow I still have a somewhat of cut abdomens but I never concentrate on them when working out.

I'm still working on it.

I gave up drinking during the week (well Monday - Thursday) still working on Sunday. It's hard not to reach for that glass of wine on Sunday and play the woe is me the weekend is over game.

I'm still fine tuning the diet. Just not quite willing to give up the dream - and I'm 31 and married.

Right on. That's exactly what I'm saying this year too. I know I can get them, so it doesn't matter as much to me. I started thinking about all the time I've spent cutting (every spring/summer for the past few years), and how much stronger I might be now if I had skipped a few of those sessions and just kept bulking. So this year I'm saying "fuck it" and not fucking with the cutting at all. I've gotten laid when I was cut and when I was bulky, anyway.
 
The guys I know who pull the most tail, in terms of both outstanding quantity and quality, do not get it with six pack abs. The guys I know who get premium ass and lots of it are around 6' tall (give or take an inch or so) and have good skin with a darker tint to it. Their shoulder-to-hip ratios are not exaggerated, but masculine in proportion. They're well-muscled, but not huge. They have good cheekbones with eyes that are masculine, yet with just a touch of softness to them. Good smiles, nice clothes, and a very confident, relaxed attitude around women. I've never- not once- seen them suffer from pussy deprivation due to the fact that they do not have a six pack.

And you know, they seem to know this too. They work out some and try to stay in shape, but I never see them saying, "Man, I don't even want to go out tonight, I feel so fat." LOL. Doesn't happen.
 
I PROBABLY HAVE DONE ABS 20 TIMES IN THE LAST 7 YEARS. I HAVE GREAT ABS. ITS ALL ABOUT KEEPING THEM UNCOVERED. EVERYONE HAS THEM BUT NOT EVERYONE HAS UNCOVERED THEM (I.E....GOT TO A LOW ENOUGH BF LEVEL). I STAY AT <12% NO MATTER WHAT SO I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT ABS.

I went wakeboarding all last week. We have neen riding a new Air Nautique. the wake is huge. My girl got a back roll of last time we went. we have a few meets this summer in texas and Oklahoma. She will win all hers, but I'm still struggling in the Experts class. Got my raley down perfect, just having trouble hitting it toeside.. I'll try to post some pics of us later.
 
The only 6 pak I've ever had I bought at the store and it usually had PBR on the lable. Anyway, It's on my to do list. Like to do it once in my life to say I did. After your hitched it really doesn't matter.

If you don't want to be as healthy, fine. If you don't want to optimize your aesthetic impressions, both on yourself and others, fine. If you don't like attracting girls, fine. In these cases, I can see why you would not NEED ab definition.

However, the majority of this thread is a rationalization for why many of you don't have the willpower to diet effectively. Some of us, myself included, are metabolically gifted. However, all of you can have it. It's just that you can't hack the path.

As I said before, sour grapes. You can either bitch about what happens to you and play the easy role of a victim, or you can get off of your ass, put the fucking twinky down, and do what needs to be done to get the desired result.

Blame no one but yourself.
 
in all honesty, most girls lik a little bit of fat. It's alot softer and seems to make them feel more secre in their relationship. I agree that 6-packs are over rated.

I kind of say forget the six pack abs at around 10 or 11pm while enjoying some sort of cheat food. This is a constant battle because the next morning I feel quilty, which is a wasted emotion and eat clean all day. Come nightime I forget the guilt and the process starts all over...
 
I have to say, having abs GETS ATTENTION.

No mistake about it.

I personally wear as little clothing as poosible.

I was at Schlitterban, a huge local water park.
More than a thousand people running around in next to nothing, most of them young.
I saw ONE guy with visible abs. ONE.
I was amazed how many fat teens there were.

O' contraire......it really isn't that hard for me, personally, to get abs. It doesn't take a lot of work, but that just goes to show how useless most people are.

People give in to their baser insincts, which means, PLEASURE FIRST.

ie. eating McDonald's 3 times per day and exercising 10 mins every 2 weeks.

Eat a moderately healthy diet and exercise moderately and you will see your abs.

People want a quick fix. It doesn't work that way. Discipline and self-respect are lacking in most individuals. People WANT to look good, but even a LITTLE effort is too much.
 
Hell no..............I'm only 25, I thought I'd given up last year, but that was only because I had the distraction of a g/f. I also got tired of looking at myself in the mirror like that.

So, ergo (like The Architect would say) I'm back on the 6 pac bandwagon.
 
I have a natural GH gut or so it seems,I can see my top two abs but I look very thick from the side and I know it wont go away so why bother starving myself for that few extra percent to go away when it doenst look how I want anyway

Yeah but this type of body sucks. You feel all big in the shirt pumped and stuff, but come beach time you feel out of shape. I feel like this if eight pack is not shining through come 4th of July...

Maybe in bizarro world. Here on earth the average Joe is going to have to do low carbs at 12Xbodyweight, AM cardio, Weightlifting, and prayer.

its really a genetic thing,my moms entire family has a thich mid section but really thick upper body,all my uncles,great uncles and grandfather are built this way
 
It's funny how a lot of you will say you are bodybuilders, but you say fuck the diet cause you like "tasty" stuff.

At least claim to be a powerlifting or a casual lifter for fuck's sake ...

At the same time I am not bashing you, if you feel like it is more beneficial for you (as a person) to eat like shit than by all means do so.

It really bothers me when people say shit like, "I can't do anything about this." :rolleyes: If you are fat than you eat like a fat person, at least don't make excuses.

A matter of dedication. I've never seen a person who truly wanted them that didn't get them. If you apply the willpower, you will get them.

If not, then what were you expecting?

By the way, I agree with your post regarding those particular guys who never have a lack. I know a number of them, and it's true.

Used to have them, but I don't any more. I've stopped eating extra so I won't have a gut, but I keep giving up on real cutting because I hate giving up the weight (hardgainer).... so I stay in limbo...
 
I am what ou call genetically challenged. I take after my fathers side of the family, small legs, ginormous midsection, big chest and small arms. I managed to get big legs, a big chest, medium arms, and still hold on to a big midssection even after losing 40 pounds ( 245-205 with definate size gains ). I hate my genes.
 
To get a six pack, I would have to get so skinny that I would blow away in the wind. As long as I can't pinch an inch, I'll be happy.
