How many of you have ever felt a lump in your breasts, and turn out to be nothing?

Have any of you have ever felt a lump in your breasts, and then have it turn out to be nothing?

Share as little or as much as you want. I now have 2 friends who had a scare, then after getting everything checked out, it didn't turn out to be a big deal. I just wondered how common it is for this to happen.

He said, "It's only lima bean size." That may be ok in a D cup, but on me that's like 1/2 my breast!

Too funny Spatts!! I can relate. ;) By the way, did you see the progress pics I put up??? ;)

I'm going to get myself checked out. I just know that more times than not, it turns out to be nothing. However, I don't understand why insurance does not pay for mammograms for women under 35 tho, I think that is absolutely ridiculous.

They won't pay it even if it's medically necessary? Docs orders? Damn bureaucracy! Probably depends on how it's "coded."

Generally, a doc can tell by pinchin it if it's in the skin or attached to something...a professional "feel up" should do the trick! ;)

Saw the pics...liked the pics. :)

They will pay if it's medically necessary, but not if you would like to voluntarily get a mammograph done if you are under the age of 35.

ewwww.....:xeye:...this is gonna be fun.

i've found a lump and it was nothing. fibrocystic breasts is what they said i had. they said that they can be caused by caffiene! also, i work in insurance and they SHOULD pay it unless you have a specific exclusion on your policy. the way you get it paid is to say you have a lump and schedule a diagnostic mammogram, not a screening mammogram. they will file it with a non routine diagnosis and it should be paid!

Kewl. Thanks for the info TEXgrl. I indulge in many things that contribute to breast cancer, so I'm a little concerned.... But I also drinks TONS of caffeine so, that is prolly what I have too.

I have. I have a recurring lump in the left breast, seems to be just some tissue formation, I forget exactly what the doctor calls it .
