Just curious. If I were a betting man, other than the hrt guys, most just hide it in the trash.

It's not fair to Vito the trash man. Plus I'd bet that if he accidentally stuck himself with a pin, there would be hell to pay.

Better safe than sorry. I get a sharps container from CVS. It's like $4. They take it for free when you fill it up. I think they send it to a medical waste disposal place. Or a Jersey beach.

Well i shouldnt say dispose properly, As the other bro said ,some people live in states that its ilegal...if it was me in that case , i guess a deturgent bottle marked SHRPS would be A great idea, i'd leave it in a Walmart garbage can if i was worried about it being picked up at my House . Good idea bro !

I throw them in the trash, but I always put the cover back on the needle before I do.

Ive never really thought about it til now.I usually just hide them in my sock drawer til my wife finds them.who knows what she does with them.LOL!

My neighborhood has a playground and a sandbox where the kids play. I just throw mine in there.

On a serious note I always use a plastic coke bottle to put my waste in. It is just as good as the red hazmat containers.

everyone see SAW II where that chick has to swim in a hole full of them like the balls at chucky cheese?

I got a visual from Vet's technique at the sandbox....lol

I put 'em in a hard plastic container (such as a empty protein container) and when it gets full I super glue the top shut and trow it in the dumpster early Friday morning, a couple of hours before the garbage men come with their truck.

I save a years worth, them go dump them in my neighbors pool.

Needles uncovered, still attched to syringe. Well over 100.

Last Summer his fat 9 year old did a Cannonball, he got out of the pool screaming with about 10 syringes hanging from his body. J/K. I use a sharps.

Nice link here... has each state rules.. Damn....where I live you can.....

Placed in strong plastic or metal containers with screw-on or tightly secured lids (examples include empty bleach bottles, liquid detergent bottles, plastic milk jugs, or coffee cans. Strong tape should be used to secure the lid of coffee cans.)
• Once the container is full and sealed, it can be placed in the regular household trash.

ha! that scene was brutal :)

My friends a doctor so i give him all my used pins and he disposes them off for me.

here we get free pins and have a free service that comes to your door to take away the sharps container when full and gives you a new empty one.

ditto on the empty laundry detergent bottle

^^^^^This is a pretty fuckin good idea.

It only take a quick second. rather be safe than sorry with my kids around i would hate for something to happen.
Another one i would do it take a pair of cutter (like on a needle nose pair of pliers or wire cutters) and cut it down. I would cut less that 1/8" at a time until the needle was gone. The bench grinder only takes me a few seconds to zip it down to nothing.

Hey man PM your post pics bro.

i actually decided to buy the prepaid disposal containers that you just fill-up and it has a prepaid mailing label. my reason behind it is that in Colorado, where i have a script for TRT, the penalty for improper sharps disposal is brutal.

I never knew that was a law in CO., that a new law? I lived their for sometime. My buds always just disposed of them in a hard container or coffee can and sealed the device prior to putting in trash.

Seriously?!?!?!?!

You guys tak all the care in the world to get your shit, wipe with alcohol swabs, find the perfect place to pin. Swab that area then poke and say fuck the trash man. He is on his own.

You ever ben stuck by a dirty needle? I did once at work and it is a scary thought. I even knew what the pt had and it was stll scarey. If joe blow gets stuck by a needle that has been in the trash he has no idea what is on it. I would be freaked the fuck out.

Buy a sharps container. They are cheap and can hold a full cycles needles. If you are scared of being questioned why you have 23 gauge needles in there everytime you bring in a fullsharps then rotate where ya drop them off. Any ER will take them. ASk the triage RN to take it from you. Go to any pharmacy and drop it off. Dont risk/scare the trash man's life.

Throwing in the trash is a douche bag move.

Anways, yall seen any good movies?

yea, it is not really directed at the average person but at docs that did not want to pay for biohazard disposal ($$$) so they would just dump stuff in public containers.... but it can & has been used againt individuals when they had nothing else (clean house). usually its just the basis for a warrant. there is an unwritten rule in colo that they do not go after either the records of those prepaid biohazard sharps disposal containers nor do they open them(plus their is some kind of grey area re: federal law)--but that could change or if was being used to for storage of unused gear.

besides that. i am sure they would also find trace amounts of steroids on each and every needle.

here's a question - what do you guys do with your empty vials?

i peel the labels off and toss the blank vial in the trash wrapped in some sort of padding

i have a burn barrell. :)

sharps, vials and even some small bottles and packaging I put in the sharps container at work but there are public places that have sharps containers too. The Casinos in Niagra Falls had some in the men's room. Guess it's for the poor old guys with diabetis that are there playing the slots long enough to need a couple insulin shots.
If you're recapping them then I guess a bleach or detergent bottle is OK but they're a lot thinner plastic than a sharps container.
Some hospitals offer free drop off - no questions.

I just put them into an old plastic container that you cannot see into and super glue the lid shut. :) Its not a proper shars container per say but at least i am not just throwing a sharp straight into the trash.

I pull the label off. Wrap the vile into some toilet paper and crush it with a hammer. I tried to break one with a knife once but i didnt know that them bitches explode like a little bomb when you break them welll at least mine did glass went everywhere it sucked. So from that point on i will break them with paper wrapped around them.

people who don't dispose of their needles properly leave a lot to chance

:worried: *your blood is on needle ..DNA testing today could tie you to it with no way out (I mean, how many jacked monsters live at your house? ..condo complex? ..apt complex?) ..if your DNA is already on file it's that much easier

:worried: *AAS is also on the needle ..ummm yeah ..enough said there + don't forget, if you're jacked ..your body is eveidence ..you're a walking confession

trash collectors compact trash ..containers break ..trash guy gets stuck ..investigation is opened ..far fetched but certainly possible, esp with the new focus on AAS

sharps containers are cheap as been said ..be responsible!! ..and be smart!! ..or possibly get what you deserve someday

I kept them in tuperware jar...but recently i was at the pharm store and i saw a sharp box, so i bought one. Needless to say, I was throughly pumped!!

I am extra careful with this. i take some latex gloves and wipe the shit ou of th bottles for no prints. I then pop of the tops and rinse the sonsabitches out as best as I can then I tos them in a trash can not near my house or to a sharps container at work. I gotta be a lil sneaky about this one.

One day the local detective asked me to stop by his office for a chat. When I got there he very casually produced a baggie with a 23g 1.5" 3cc terumo and a used alcohol swab w/ wrapper. He told me they found it when doing a dumpster-dive in my can. He then proceeded to ask me if it contained meth. I guess my broken down 220lb physique and rotten teeth made him think I was a junkie. lol

Ever since then I store them in a detergent bottlle and take them to the landfill personally.

BTW the pin contained 1-test cyp which at the time was legal to purchase in powder form. Man I miss those days!

i put them in a whey proiten container ...i have not filled it up yet so i have not got rid of them

I do the same, but I break the needle off and leave it loose with the cap on that way no one can reuse it and ther is less chance of getting stuck with it.

I use an empty laundry detergent bottle, hard plastic. They usually have a child safe lid. One should fill the bottle with plaster or similar product when you want to dispose of it.

The problem with sharp containers are that they are bright yellow or red and quite often ridiculously large for private use, and thus is not easy to hide for other family members.

Sharp containers can be easily bought cheap on the internet. I Norway we can dispose of a sharps container at any pharmacy

I use a sharps container, it's the 1 liter size so like a bit smaller than a half gallon of milk. I only put the pins with caps in there, the syringe and bloody alcohol swabs go in the bathroom trash where no one will pick through.. My wife know, but nobody else does and I do my injections in the guest bathroom.

Guardian, miss you already bro. Fly high.

Had to go to the land fill hear , and dump some brick and concreat i had dug up ,was getting it out of my trailer and started looking down on what i was standing on ,there were like a 100 plus old insulin needles just lying on the ground ,so do diabetics have to dispose of them properly?

That's primarily whom the guidelines are set for, I mean theres other reasons to need to inject yourself, blood thinners come to mind.. What state are you in? That's fucking nuts even if it's the landfill. Reminds of that scene in Saw II.. eeww..
