How Many of you are guilty of this????

I used to until I read Nelsons book wow I sound like a commercial how gay. I tried some of his bicep exercises and my bi's are bigger and fuller now I never used to get them sore...I just do what works for me but I see plenty of douchebags that dont know what they are doing, they are usually the ones following what your doing and trying to do more weight like they are stronger...The same people who roll around with lifting gloves and a gallon of water probably wearing less clothes than they should be, you know the guy doing curls at the squat rack and shrugs on the smith machine.

I do so many different things on different days I don't think I fall into this category, but I see TONS of guys in my gym that do nothing but curls and I don't understand it.

Its pretty sad, I almost never see anyone doing squats, deadlift, or shrugs except me. Almost no one wears shorts either. What is the deal with guys not working legs??? Its an epidemic.

No two workouts are ever the same for me, totally instinctive training 4 me.

So you wanna see more guys wearing shorts working out their legs? :rainbow:

The basics are the same. Bench, squat, deads, military press, etc...
All the secondary exercises like cables and dumbells, I mix it up!

I have tried everything from changing routines weekly to changing routines semi annually. I once went through a period where I just winged every workout I did for about 18 months. What has worked best for me is this. In the winter I do bulk routines and change them monthly. In the spring I do bulk and high rep routines mixed and change them every 3 weeks. In the summer I do high rep and a lot of cardio and change it every two weeks. In the fall I just kick back and do a full body workout twice a week - I don't change that routine ever. This works great for me and I have been lifting for 38 years now. Took me a while to figure out what works best for my body, every couple of years I go to the supplement counter and it although it becomes obvious to regular gym goer I no longer care. It is a great feeling - and ever since that Gumble show on HBO years ago. I always have something to hang my hat on when people want to question my ethics....

i can be called a creature of habit. I always seem to get a bit rainman-ish when it comes to changing a routeen. I real have to force myself cuz i get in the mind set of "its working dont tamper with it"....

I don't get it. So your routine is working, and you don't want to change it (because it's working), but you force yourself to change it?

Why would you change something that's working?

I think too many people "change up" things so often that there's no way to tell what's working and they stay the same year after year. Hard to measure progress when you are constantly changing things.
