This applies to the gym as well as diet.

INSAINITY=Doing the same thing over and over and expect different results.

There are some guys in my gym like this ,they do the same exercises everytime, yet they look just like they did last year.

I usually switch up my routine at the gym every 3 months or so, but i always add in new excersice's either with new ones alone or super sets with 2-3 different ones. I also always look for new and refreshing meals to mix up my diet so it doesnt get boring. Change is good, rotation is good!!

That sounds like my first couple years in the gym. Doin the same work out our football coach taught us, not eatin right and makin next to no head way. I was just goin through the motions and wonderin why nothin was happenin.

I must admit I am guilty of this. I try to change it up as much as I can. I am limited because alot of the excercises I would like to do just cause too much pain from injuries.

I suspect as a 43 yr old guy who has been playing sports and lifting since I was about 13 that I'm not alone.

Yeah im guilty of this ,just get into a routine and sticking with it to long or the same lifts just do the routine backwards .

To true as you get older you dont heal faster you just learn to work around the injurys faster .

Brad is spot on, I have had my share of injuries in and out of the gym, I will work around it until it has healed, I have some that will not heal, but it doesn't stop me , even if i have to train using a 5 lb plate, that to me is one giant step forward----eventually i may get back 80-90% but the pain is still there, you have to grin and bear it!

Ok! Back to the topic.......
