How many Comps

SInce the judges have told you that you prob want to add some muscle to your upper body - esp shoulders, at some point you have to get out of "competition mode" and cutting. You will have to move into a phase where you are eating enough to add muscle.

That said, if you feel up to it, I don't see any reason why you can't bang out a bunch of comps this season, then at the end of the year start trying to add muscle for next year.

Ok I hate to keep sounding like Daisy's toadie, but this is exactly what I was going to say. Damn you blondie.

Frisky, you looked great. that quad sweep was really impressive. ROCK ON!

Frisky my personal opnion is more then 1 a month is too much. Your body needs the time to readjust IMO. I could be wrong though lets see how you do at this show. I also like Sassy's susggestion of seeing how you feel after each show and taking it from there. One thing I love about you doing all these shows is that your going to be a wealth of knowlegde now when it comes to comps. :)

Thanks so much girls..

daisy, I think im more symmetrical now with my legs down alot. but building my shoulders up is a must for next year. I didn't kill myself for this one at all... treating it like a test show gonna experiment a bit ;)

thanks RottenWillow :rose:

SuperQT.. Im feeling really good right now didn't think I'd recover this time but it wasn't as stressful on comp day as the last one. The only reason I entertained the idea of as many as i can as close as I can is because IMO its easy to maintain than it is to get lean. I am gonna play with my diet and actually cut my cardio time way down to minimize muscle loss.. gonna see how that goes.. hee hee

I'll be keeping notes.. and I'll be more than happy to share with all of you ladies

Thanks everyone :rose:

The biggest issue is going thru the full prep each time. Generally competitors try to pack in as many as they can within a few weeks of each other. If you wait more than 1 month between you really need to start your whole prep over again and you will probably experience rebound effects that would really inhibit an extended schedule of repeated deplete & gain. If within a small number of weeks because you are already lean you can fiddle w/ just the "last week" prep period. There's really only maybe 5 lb of adjustment going on and mentally you are still in "contest mode" before the "post show depression" really starts to set in and you start gaining again.

But to your point, it is also important to listen to your body and set your goals with the flexibility to accommodate both your level of energy and what your body will let you do as far as repeated depletion. For ex, diuretics (OTC or other) don't work as well the 2nd time if you don't leave enough time for your body to recover so it can respond again-- that means you need to adjust your depletion strategy & methods to match the state that your body is in as a result of whatever previous shows.)
