How long did it take you to find out the three keys to strength/muscle gain?

Those three things being:
1. eating enough and the right kinds of Food
2. Moving the wieghts and not being a puss no matter how much you want to give up or how much it hurts
3. plenty of sleep.

Sorry if Im beating a dead horse here, I just had to vent, I have had a few key instances(I wont go into them) in the past week, and I am reminded daily by ignorant people at the gym, in regular life, and on the internet, that I just have to get this off my chest.

Everyone puts thier trust and relies on stupid suppliments/other things to do the job. And are not willing to take matters into thier own hands. they have a shitty diet and do not even get close to enough sleep, but they have that new NO2 that is supposed to raise crap levels by 400%.

I finally came to this conclusion about a year ago, after about 3 years of decent lifitng. I just wish I would have found this out earlier.

Now when I hear people talking about "the new breakthough supplements" I want to slap them in the face and tell them to stop being momma's boys, suck it up and just lift already.

hmmmm, if it only were that simple. Enough sleep! That's a good one. What do you consider enough sleep. If I get 5 hours I count myself lucky. Sometimes life gets in the way.

Eating right, now that's key. Big time!!! The only thing is I'm on CKD right now, so technically am I eating right? I'm not taking in any or barely any carbs for energy.

Pushing around the weights:

God I have to get this engrained in my head. I am still soooo weak minded. I can push through the pain, but I just know at the end of my set, that I could've worked harder.


Here's to one day getting the key three to work for me!

The second two I had down pat for three years. Of course, nothing happened. Found #1 a year ago.
 
ive found 1.5................. i got the training, eating a lot of food but not always clean, and learning the sleep.

trust me, it is that simple, well maybe a few other items as well, but mostly those three. For me enough sleep is 7-8 hours a night, if I get less or more I am tired.

great job on the CKD, thats mad tough, takes alot out of someone to do that.
 
Well, whenever I get into any kind of hobby, I research the shit out of it (to put it eloquently).
