how hard do the pro's train?

depends, it varies from person to person. Some of it would suprise you though. There are a few of them that barely workout while others train like madmen.

They all vary, I have seen several train whan I have been in town for pro shows. some train hard, others use just machines with very little intensity. Thats why on several occasions dorian accused american bb's of being somewhat lazy in the way that they train compared to those in europe.

Well, I'm sure there are people here who know a lot more about this than I do, but I did read once that Dorian Yates trains for 45 min. a day, 4 times a week.:)

Check out Arnold, Franco and Lou in Pumping Iron..thats a lot of itensity...

Sadly a lot of top guys are drug based and dont train as hard as their lower dosed counterparts from the 1970's

POWERLIFTERS TRAIN HARD! You have to because there is no bullshit lack of intensity while going for a max bench, squat or deadlift

I watched blood and guts the other day and although dorian trianed with a lot of intensity he used more machines than i thought he would!

yes dorian did use a lot of machines. but prob in that point in his career he was trying to maintain and not get injured, which happened anyway.

Yates trained briefly and VERY HARD. He used machines more as he got very strong and experienced some injuries as he felt they were safer but he also though some machine movenments where better than some free weight movements.
