how did you choose your career

i was about to go to college 10 years when i was 19 goin on 20 and my friend called and said "hey you wanna sling cinder blocks and work a shovel for $28 per hour." so instead of spending my tax check on tuition and books i went to home depot and bought tools and went to the jobsite and bought my union card from the business agent.

I have known since I was a kid....assuming of course I keep going in my current field after I finish my PhD.

How much longer you think until you're Dr. Nathan?

I *knew* I was supposed to be an artist since childhood. I've been pretty lucky in that I can move easily from medium to medium.

in hindsight i wish i would have went to college as well though. sometimes there are long layoffs between jobs

you have 2 bachelors degrees? what are they in?

negative, round one BS sociology which is about as useful as basket weaving
round two AS in paramedic science

round three double major, fine arts and biology (neurobiology to be exact) ..in progress...no expected graduation date at this time..lolol

only around 16 credits away from graduating then everything got derailed *sigh*

Less than a year, I think. Working on job applications now that start September 2011. It's pretty depressing though, let me tell you. A lot of the jobs are amazing, the trick is to not think about how many other applications they get for them and how few there are. Still, there's always finance. Or sex, I can always sell that....uh, well, provided I put in the extensive work needed to find buyers.

6 internships, 20 jobs and 2 degrees, and I am now doing something I love.
