How did Schwarzenegger, Columbo, Mentzer etc Recover?

I could be wrong but I believe HCG treatment is quite new for PC. I read a post on here saying that Clomid was unknown pre 90's. So, I'm curious, how did these early guys both block estrogen and recover from their steroid usage? I've read quotes from Arnold saying he used "but not like these guys today" or something to that extent, but I wonder how he recovered even if he did use moderately?

i certainly would't call arnies usage moderate but from what i've read they just had good genes. no pct, stayed on almost all the time and never grew tits. they probably all are on HRT now i would assume.

These comments are all wrong.

The dosages WERE moderate. (By today's basic internet user standards).

They did not stay on all the time.

Genes have nothing to do with recovery or gyno.

And as far as them being on HRT, well, fuck , they're in their 60's!



Oh, and Clomid sucks.

Well this pretty anecdotal, but I read once in one of those Muscle Mags that Mentzer laughed at what he consider the "small" amount of steroids Schwarzenegger used, and perhaps I wrongly assume, but I think today's pros must use far more than Mentzer would have dreamed of.

Since I've never heard any of the pros bragging about their usage, their recovery plans may never be known, but I'd be surprised if a guy like Arnold was on 'roids year round. Maybe there's some old pros on here willing to divulge their secrets from the 70's and 80's...

They used pyramids. going up with there dosing and back down again. Most of the time never coming off fully. If they got gyno then they got it removed..

I've had several old timers come out and be very candid about their gear use with me. The problem is, nobody believes it.
