This question has yet to be answered conclusively and there is much debate .Some say that homosexuality is a conditioned response and a life style choice. others say its purely a genetic inheritance, preprogrammed in at birth.Some genetic scientist are of the opinion that its passed on through the mothers side of the family generally, and that its unalterable .Genetics, or a life style choice?

There was an interesting clip on 60 minutes about this. They are doing a study on children and their behavior. How they dress, what kinds of toys they like, their movements, etc. They studied several videotapes of adults when they were children and asked people to guess whether or not they are gay. Many people were correct when they picked out the child that is now a gay adult. They showed two twins (boys), one had the military room with G.I. joes, etc. the other had a somewhat feminine room with ponies, and pink stuff (he even had on nail polish).

I don't think its a learned behavior or lifestyle choice. Two girls dancing and kissing each other at a bar to get attention, is a choice. Having feelings and sexual attraction for someone (regardless of sex) isn't. I'm probably wrong, but, I just don't think its a "choice."
 
i knew a kid in 3rd grade who always played with the girls at recess. he even owned two Cabbage Patch Dolls that he brought to school so the other girls and him would play with them at recess.

wonder what sexuality he became?

I would have to say tast is acquired.some thing youre brot up with to.alote of difrant things about youre life and the way you live and how you grow up make a big defrance in what you like for food what youre tast is.

good whay to look at it though.being guy could have to do with alote of the same things.but i.m.o genetics have nothing to do with it.

the kids were alod to be that way and the parents told him that it was ok giveing more atantoin to the childs femanen side.do you think that if they had said no you cant play with dolls and pant youre nails and act like a girl,and insted said here have a football and some g.i joys he might have ternd out difrant.cuz thats what the study would say would happen right.
so by that study its the kids parents or gardains thats to blam.

I saw this documentary about 2 brothers. The younger one, by mistake, the doctors cut off his penis instead of the umbilical cord. The parents were looking for a way to replace it, butthe doctors didnt know what to do. Finally, she went to a doctor that said if you raise your son as a girl - he will feel like and think like a girl. So, they did it - changed his name into a girls name and the older brother is growing up thinking he has a sister.

As they are growing up, the "girl" is playing with her brothers toys, even though all the dolls and girlie toys just lay around. They go to therapy at the same doctor that suggested for them to raise the penisless son as girl.

The "girl" gets to go to school and starts early puberty. She finds herself attracted to girls, while thinking the whole time that she should be attracted to boys. More and more confusion grows in her head, she is miserable with her life and feels that something is missing. Finally, the dad tells the truth. The older brother goes in rage that this whole time he thought he had a sister and that was not true.

The younger brother marries. The older one never stops having anger problems since the time he learned about his brother. He kills himself. Shortly after that, the younger one goes off to the cornfield and shots himself with a rifle.

Nobody chooses and it's not genetic. It's determined in a raffle in 3rd grade. I thought everyone knew that? :rolleyes:

They march all the 3rd graders (in perfect little lines) down to the gym every October. Then they have a sexuality raffle. If they call your number and the wheel of desire turns to one of the "you're gay" sections you're gay. If it turns to one of the "hetero" sections you're straight". One kid in every school winds up on the "you're just a sick fuck" section too. That's the kid that winds up liking pets as more than just friends.

I was kinda like that when I was a kid. Without the dolls though. & I played cops & robbers type stuff. I was just scoping out the territory.

I have a Brother in Law who is gay. Other Brother in Law & Wife are straight as arrows. They said they knew from when he was little there was something different about him.

I think it may be either genetic, or something to do with foetal developement.
