hey wats up bro...my stats are as follows....6 foot 1880 pds...and im not sure wat my bodyfat is but i only have some fat on my lower abdomen and some on my pecs(its the best description i can give, sorry)...no biggie. Now i have tried the keto diet approach but i never really lost any weight while on it. Th problem i figured out was this: i wouldnt eat carbs at all while on it...so iknow that wasnt my problem...but i think where i messed up was that i would eat too much protein while on it and not enuff fat. Also i would never have the carb up day in fear of gaining bak the fat. Im actually VERY VERY afraid of carbs and i hardly ever have any! wierd huh???Now i just recently found out (thanx to one of your earlier posts) that your body can convert excess protein into glucose and that will stop any weight loss. So finding that out sucked. So im very confused on how u should eat while on a CKD type diet. I would really like for you to outline some of the foods you eat on a CKD diet in full detail or even give me a day's sample menu...including wat to eat on the carb up days. My other alternative to the CKD type of diet would be to follow the Body For Life type diet (i jus bought the book...hehe...and it sounds really simple and fullfilling and u really dont have to rack your nerves with things such as prcise calorie countings and such.)...or simply any kind of diet that u think would work for me brother. Im really confused on how i should go about it....i have a great deal of will power (i never cheat)but i guess not enuff knowledge on the subject of dieting. Thats where i would really appreciate it if u would help me out brother. Much appreciated.

P.s: wat exactly can u drink while on a ckd diet: diet soda, crystal light??

Also, i forgot to add...is it a good idea to add 5HTP as a supplement with my diet. Will it hinder any of the fat loss?? It really helps me control my appetite and i was jus wondering if i could add it without it hurtin my diet and overall weightloss at all.Since some antii depressants hurt weight loss (slow down metabolism) thanx again

just a question

sonny: dont you think you are a little obsessed with your weight?, i mean 6'0 and 180 pounds is not bad at all, like you i was pretty obsessed with my weight too (as all former fat boys must be at some point) but believe is not worth it, is bettter to concentrate on better goals, heart condition and overall health than to obsessed with just a number on the scale

just my two cents

Dear SonnyBlack,

I am not going to say that CKD is better than any other diet, but I will assure you that it will bring about quick results. At the same time, if you are looking for lifetime health, then you should follow the BFL program.

This is the rundown for a CKD: (includes a 24hour carb-up, which is required)
6/1 ratio (6 days in ketosis/1 day carb-up)
Figure out your BMR...(basal-metabolic-rate)=calories needed to maintain current weight
weight x 12=BMR....
180lb x 12=2160 cal a day
Try the following fat/protein ratios w/ BMR deficit:
Day:
1-> 85%fat/15%protein-- BMR-5%
*2050 cal total
2-> 80%fat/20%protein-- BMR-10%
*1950 cal total
3-> 80%fat/20%protein--BMR-20%
*1750 cal total
4-> 75%fat/25%protein--BMR
*2160 cal total
5-> 70%fat/30%protein--BMR-10%
*1950 cal total
6-> 80%fat/20%protein--BMR-10%
*1950 cal total
7-> (CARB-UP) BMR+10/15%
*2400-2500 cal total

SAMPLE MEAL 1:
3 whole eggs : 210 cal, 20g protein, 12 g fat
1 tbsp. flaxseed oil: 130 cal, 14 g fat
2 tbsp. mayo: 200 cal, 22 g fat

Totals: cal: 540 cal, 20g protein, 48 g fat

Mr.X :cool:

hey bros...and wat about me adding the 5htp to my diet. Will it slow down the weight loss at all or can i safely add it in. It helps with my mood swings and cravings...thanx

Just a note from the new kid on the block. I have been reading the discussion boards for the past few days and i wish to share my story. I am 43 years old and 5'11. I weighed 275lbs the beginning of last week. I have to get rid of the lbs. They are killing me. I have started a high protien loww carb diet at I am currently using Hydroxycut as a fat burner. I got a membership at my local gym and I'm following ther advise, lots of cardio to start my workout followed by circuit training followed by more cardio. I have been doing this for the last 10 days. The first 10m pounds of atleast 75 I need to lose is now gone.

I just want to thank all of you for the info I get here.
