Help with starting a good diet for gaining size?

Hi labtec70, thanks for your response :)

I do tend to push myself at the gym, normally spend between 1 and 2 hours in the gym, I do a full body workout each time I go,

I vary the exercises so my body wont get too used to them, I'm sure I read that somewhere! Anyway, average routine would consist of

Bench Press 3 x 8
Barbell Curls 3 x 8
Barbell Row 3 x 8
Shoulder Press 3 x 10
Squat 3 x 8
Calf Raises 3 x 8
Shrugs 3 x 8
Leg Press 3 x 8

Some of these exercises get changed around, some days I will focus more on chest then others on legs, etc. Also if a muscle is still sore I will skip it for that day.

Thanks again :)

If your trying to gain mass I wouldn't do a full body workout. 3 day split would be a good routine. Or 1 muscle group a day.

Also for the long periods of time when your not able to eat. The NTBM better protein bars are awesome when you don't have the time to eat.

I agree with this.. give your body time recover.. your muscles grow then your resting and feeding them. They don't grow in the gym.

If money is an issue you can make your own protein bars.. oats, honey, peanut butter and vanilla protein powder is all you need.. there are tons if recipes online for them

Brown rice, black beans, sweet potatoes, red potatoes, steak, red meats, white meats, avocados, almonds, walnuts, whole wheat pasta, bananas, those are all really nutritional and good for healthy weight gain.
Stay away from bread, sugar, all that garbage
