Help! Need advice-going on a cruise in 2 weeks!

You might want to add something like 1 whole egg scrambled with 4 whites to your breakfast. I always couple a protein with a carb to slow the insulin response. Protein is your friend, Low glycemic carbs are your friend, healthy fats are your friend. If you fall off the wagon on the cruise - OH Fricking Well....you now know what needs to be done and I have every confidence that you will do it. Can't wait to hear what you have to say a year from now- May God help the bulimic that runs into you LOL

You are so great!!! I am really going to try to stay away from those but I have to have at least one!! :)

You are right about never seeing those people again-I just want to look good for myself so I can feel good and not be obsessing too badly about how I look in comparison to everyone else! :)
 
To anyone who hasn't read it, check out the alcohol sticky on the diet bored. I thought it was really interesting.

Wlibe, yes there will be a lot of access to food-- and some of it is clean and some isn't. I guess the key is portions and making good choices. You're a smart cookie and I hope you do what's best for you. I'm kind of jealous that you'll have all that good seafood around.

I hope that you're able to be comfy in your own skin and won't let the stress of weight/food ruin your trip. You deserve to kick back and enjoy yourself.

I know it is going to be all about self-control and wanting to stick to a clean diet. That is why I want to make sure that I am on the right track before I go so my body will continue to want clean things, ya know? :)

Just remember, that there will be times when the shit will hit the fan... maybe not. But DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP.

Positive mental attitude is an important thing, but we have to put it into perspective.... there is NO SUCH THING AS FAILURE IF YOU REALLY TRY AND PRESS ON WHEN STUFF DOESN'T WORK OUT THE WAY YOU PLANNED...

REMEMBER, YOU ARE IN IT FOR THE LOOOOOOONG HAUL...

YOU HAVE BUT THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. :)
 
The thing about what other people think is that as a general rule humans are very self absorbed and notice nothing that literally does not pertain to them. Everyone else on that cruise is going to be running around going "God I hope I don't look to fat.....do these shorts make my butt look big.....God I wish I had lost some weight before I got on this boat..... and all the while they are going to be snarfing down at the all you can eat buffet. So, have yourself ONE of those little umbrella drinks and sit back and laugh at them because the NEXT time you go on a cruise they will be noticing you going GOD I wish I looked like her (we only notice that which looks better than us) as you now know the secret.

Temple-thanks!! I am definitely going to be watching other people. Hopefully that will trigger me to stick to my plan if I get lost in it all. I do notice the great looking people but I also notice the not-so great looking people--whether it is right or wrong--it gives me motivation to keep at whatever I am doing so I don't end up like them. Sorry if that is harsh but whatever works, right? :)
 
I apologize...you just get so used to seeing quick fix help posts for vacations etc...did not intend to flame you..Congrats on overcoming your ed..been there too so I understand all that...take your time..have faith in yourself...and just let the cards fall where they fall....dont get to caught up in losing for this cruise...like bikinimom said you got the rest of your life..and a lot of time women make things a bigger deal than they already are..we tend to do that:) Have fun and dont mind me...I tend to get a lil bitchy at times..but if you get to know me..you know that is just me;)
 
I went on an 8 day cruise. I used the gym a few times. I gained five pounds. I think it was water weight. It was gone shortly after I came home.Have fun!! Take some dramamine with you or get that patch for sea sickness. I took dramamine. Just watch mixing it with alcohol!
