Hello I am new here and I have been reading a lot and love all of what you guys suggest. With that said I have a couple questions.

I am looking to loose a lot of weight and get lean. I am not looking for a crazy six pack or anything like that. I am 5' 4" and weigh 240 lbs right now. I have started a diet on Sun and have been doing really good with it. I have started running and I am thinking of lifting a little. My goal is to drop 50 to 60 lbs by the end of July. I don’t know if that is possible but maybe you guys can give me a couple pointers.

Here is the diet that I have started. I work from 3am until 3pm until the summer really starts.

3 until 6: water

6am: 8 eggs (6 white and @ regular) and a small cup of oatmeal with water.

8:30 protein shake (6 oz of water with 1 scoop)

11:30: Lunch I usually eat what I had for dinner the night before. I have been eating breast meat chicken on the grill and 1 small red potato with an apple.

2pm: another protein shake

4:30ish: dinner. Again I have been eating chicken on the grill and potato.

7:30ish: another protein shake.

I also have jerky or a spoon of peanut butter if I want a snack. I have not been cheating. (But Chipotle does sound good for a cheat LOL)

What do you guys think?

You need to eat something within a half hour of waking up, unless you do your cardio first thing and then eat. If not your not starting up your metabalism enough.

wht would be some more things i can to get more calories? Also I feel like I am over eating and always fool eating like this is this normal?

You need to establish coloric needs based on your BMI and activity level. Then you need to log everything you eat everyday. I use livestrong.com. FitDay.com is also very good.

You cannot manage what you measure.

Once you start doing this I would setup your diet so that you are about 500-700 clean calories under maintenance. This along with low intensity cardio and a good lifting routine will net you great results.

In 2007 I weighed 208 lbs at 6' (mostly gut). I tried adipex and a 2000 calorie diet for about a half year and droped down 172. I did lose a lot of muscle, but my goal was to shed the fat and then add my muscle back. I am currently at 193 with muscle, with bloat lol..(15.5%bf). The only problem with this is that with muscle lose it is hard to get strength back, for me anyways so dont get discouraged and remember the end goals.

In addition to what has already been mentioned: You need more real food, less shakes. Drop that potatoe for something lower GI. Where are your green veggies? Broccoli is a major staple in any cutting diet. Your diet is lacking in EFA's and greens.

Chipotle for a once a week cheat on a very strict diet sounds amazing.
