I am confused on the whole post corn. But let me see if I understand where you are coming from. Are you saying that if you want to be muscular and cut you should lift heavy and do sprints instead of long periods on the treadmill? Is that what you are saying?

Although I agree with your interpretation, that is not my main point.

The body will respond to the stimulus you provide.

Marathon runners LOOK the way they due because of the type of exercise they do. Same is true with sprinters.
Sprinters thing explosion.

Marathoners think long burn.

Skinny Sprinter

Antonio Pettigrew... 'nuff said. Awesome quarter miler and used to run the 200, and he is thin as a rail... It doesnt have to do with muscle all the time. I have seen real lean, cut guys, get beat my skinny kids. IN fact the fastest kid in my region is skinny as shit. 47 second 400, 21.8 second 200 and a 10.4 second 100...

But, I am not saying I disagree, if this kid got on a good weight training program and good coaching he would be unreal. You should have said: "Muscular marathon runner or Skinny ONE HUNDRED METER sprinter..." you dont see many skinny 100 meter sprinters in the olympics, but you do see skinny 200 and 400 runners.

I think it is accepted fact that "sprinter" refers to 100 meters.

Sprinting for 100 meters? WoW. That is a long way. Heck...I always try to stay within arm's length from the fridge so I don't have to sprint anywhere...:)

True my friend - true

I THINK what Cornholio is trying to say is that if you want big legs or muscles...you must train them with strong intensity, not super high reps, and get lots of rest.

I'm constantly being verbally bitch slapped by people at my Gym telling me "Man you are doing wayyy too much cardio"

And yet my lifts are not declining.

I try to tell them I am a relatively easy gainer, I tend to be fat, have a family history of Heart disease and that I love to eat.

Maybe I could be bigger than I am if I didn't do all the cardio but so be it....

Generally speaking Corn you are right, but some of us freaks are happy to be Sweatin to the Oldies...

Ok, I can't take it. How the hell can a sprinter be classified as anything but skinny? Sure, they're fairly muscular. So what? 160lbs is far from being big, unless you're 5'4". They have some muscles, yes, but they sure as fuck aren't big and muscular. Show me a 225lb sprinter and then I'll call them big and muscular.
