i dont know whats going on but for the last couple of months while on cycle and training i'm hearing a crunching sound in the muscle i workout followed by almost unbearable pain. 3 different occassions. First about 6 weeks ago i was doing bench press and crunch! my left pec felt like it tore. took 2 wks off of chest. then i did triceps about 3 wks later, skull crushers, and again heard a crunching sound and could barely move my tricep for a week or two. now TODAY i was doing leg press and the same thing happened in my right quad! i'm currently running 700mg sust and 30mg proviron. stopped masteron 3 wks ago was runing that at 300mg wk for 10 wks. been on the sust for 12 wks. and just started tren A today. WTF is going on here? anyone?

i warmed up on leg extensions for 4 sets. and when it happened the other times it was like my middle to last set...and its not even that heavy of weight either..i dont get it.

that's scary bro...maybe you need to warm up?

Muscles generally do not make crunching sounds.

Tendons and joints do make crunching sounds.

Muscles grow faster than tendons. I know many good bors (including myself) whose strength went through the roof and the tendons didn't get strong enough, fast enough while on cycle. Snap, crackle, pop. Next thing you know you have a torn tendon. I tried to work my way through a bicep tendon injury. If I simply took it easy for a few weeks I would have healed. Dummy me didn't. It took a year to heal properly.

IMO lighten up on the weight. Do an extensive warm-up and cool-down with the affected area. If joins are inflamed use a cold press on the area after working out. Also, use heat and massage in the evening on the area.

Over the counter meds can also help with inflammation. 800mg of motrin for 10 days, including the regimen above, should do the trick.

Also, if you have the cash try some HGH. That helps with repairs.

Deca is also a wonder drug for tendons and joints.

Winstrol is very bad for joints and tendons.

Based on your symptoms though, especially if it is in the middle of your quad, it has to be muscle. Heat and massage with tons of stretching is my recommendation.

great advice bro! appreciate it alot. it makes sense cuz before this cycle i took 3 years off of AAS and didnt really train as intense as i am now. i'm feeling stronger than hell but my tendons are probably weaker still. you think the proviron is hard on joints? i'm stoppin it in 3 days. then just going to run the tren and sust. i will save up and throw in some HGH as well. its the one thing i havent tried yet.

Another excellent post. I'd give karma if I could again. Right on the money. It sounds like stiff, brittle tendons. Unfortunately this happens to some of us to varying degrees. My patella tendons were all but shot before I started Gh. Now just a low dose seems to keep them healthy and nearly pain free! 2 iu per day is enough for me for this purpose. On a side note- when I switched from actual gh to gh peptides I did not get the same kind of joint relief and my knees started hurting again, especially post leg workouts. So, I added in a small amount of gh to my peptide protocol and within a week they were feeling much much better.

How old are you? If you're under 40 or so you'll most likely just be wasting money on the HGH... yes it is great for collagen synthesis but won't do much else for you if you're younger. Just add a little deca or eq to your cycles or lift lighter if you're tearing your tendons, etc.

A couple of thoughts... Back off the training frequency being sure to only train in such a way that affects the troubled areas once per week each. And, it doesn't necessarily have to be muscle even if it's in the middle of the thigh etc. Think about how the thighs, tris etc are set up, not just one single muscle, but there are tendons connecting the individual areas throughout the complex. Or, at least I believe that is how it works (I probably sound like an idiot, but someone probably knows what I'm trying to say...).

okay here is the deal.. i went through this myself.. not to this extent but I know what this guy is talking about.

here is the conclusion I came up with. taking what Army Vet said about while on AAS you get way stronger but unless you lube up these joints you will have issues with this.

so you definately need a lot of good fats. salmon, salmon oil, nuts, olive oil extra virgin, etc etc. GOOD fats. the American diet has very little of this.. its all bad fats which dry your joints out. also running something that bloats you like dbol and deca can help lube up the joints, and taking something like adex will dry out your joints even further. do more cardio instead after the workout.. just walk a mile on the treadmill.. anything to get the heart rate up is good and will burn off some fat.

the solution is you want to keep the weight low (i was doing heavy weight), take in tons of GOOD fats (i wasn't getting any), and monitor the situation closely. nothing wrong with taking a week off to let the tendons/joints recover. just workout other areas and give that area a rest!

as soon as i started doing both my symptoms died down significantly!! next cycle I am gonna triple my salmon oil and not gonna let myself be tempted into showing off at the gym and trying to do more weight then my tendons/joints can handle. some guys at the gym have their entire arms/elbows wrapped up from doing heavy weights.. i dont want to end up like that and neither do you.

also keep in mind you in plain terms like what armyvet said above. you are getting way stronger too fast. its like how a runner gets way faster too fast and then has leg problems. this is another reason why its a good idea to train for years (yes years) before jumping on AAS. you want to get your body stronger and conditioned first, before jumping on. would you run a marathon without training first? you would kill yourself. why people dont train before AAS i have no idea. our bodies are made mostly of water and flesh, we aren't made of steel.

my 2 cents.

Deca don't do nothing for my joints at even 40mg /wk. But, 2 iu of HGH and alas, no join pain. Nothing can touch HGH for joints/tendons ability to heal in record time

i'd like to know what kind of HGH you are taking. I've got some hygetropin taking it at 4iu daily and am not getting much benefit from it. What is Alas?

I'm 25 and have been lifting since around 15. have done shows, teen nationals when i was 18 etc. then when i was 22 i decided to take time off of AAS had a kid, had a hernia operation etc. just got back into lifting heavy and juice 4 months ago. so maybe i'm moving to quickly for my tendons. the weight feels fuckin light though its frustrating as hell! I'm bigger and stronger than i ever was previously..gotta love the muscle memory for sure. great advice by all! i'm definitely going to up my fat content and maybe start a little eq or deca..maybe even hgh. i get great pumps to where it almost hurts and then that seems to be when the crunching sound happens and the tendon blows. it literally makes a crunching sound in my head, even with head phones on i heard it! hah its scary shit. i can barely walk up and down the stairs today. my entire quad is completely sore. gonna take some time off of the wheels and focus on more cardio following workouts. thanks again for the feedback
