Hangovers

This thread has been going for what feels like a month now. If you haven't figured it out by now how to handle a hangover - you boys are still drunk!

and if you wanna be hardcore just start where you left off from the night before... do it jersey style... lol

I am a little late to the thread but I have been trying for years to "cure" the hangover. Here is what I recomend after 15 years of trial and error:

Before Drinking (Very important):

Throw away any shit that you think you might eat when you get home in a drunken state and buy something healthy to replace it. Half of the pain from a hangover is looking at the left of wrapers and boxes of shit that you ate from the night before.

Take 3
Hangover Formula Tabs from Source Naturals
or
take a strong B-Complex and ACES Antioxidant vitamin
one or 2 r-ala's
2 Sessamax
A Couple of Milk Thistle
3 glasses of whater


3 hours into drinking:

Take another B-Complex with 3 glasses of water

When you get home (most important)

Drink an electrolyte drink - skip the gatorade crap - go with something else with out all the sugar and crap. Prepare a large pitcher to keep next to your bed for the morning.

If you are wasted - Try and puke. Then take an activated charcoal capsule or two. It will help pull some of the extra toxins out of your stomach. You can also use a couple teaspons of baking soda to help with the upset stomach.

If you are ok but not ok to drive - take another B complex or Hangover Formula

Next morning - Dont take any tylenol or asprin, it will screw up your liver.
If you feel like puking then please puke! Its good to get the crap out. Afterward eat some fresh ginger. Its good for you and will assist you with the nausea. Then Drink the following or eat something spicy- A virgin mary with extra tabasco and lemon lime juice, and some horseradish. I have no idea why it works but I am convinced that the capsican in the hot peppers creates some type of pain blocking reaction in the brain. Follow it up with 2 glasses of water.

If you arent too hung over at this point make it to the gym, pool, sauna, or steam room. My body takes to long to process all the crap so I do my best to try and sweat it out. Make sure you are hydrated though or you will die :)

At this point I recomend that you eat but try and eat something healthy. Your body is already over run with the booze and adding a bunch of grease wont help. Your liver is your friend, please treat it as such.

Chances are that you will end up going back to sleep in the afternoon for an hour or two. This is ok but it causes problems later at night when you try to go back to sleep. The only thing you can do here is lean on mother nature or the pharmaceutical community. Do what you got to do get to bed early and get in 8 hours of sleep before the next day. Melatonin, Ambien, a little bit of xanax, sleepy time tea, whatever. Just try to take the minimum dose and take it early enough so it wears off by morning.

There are some other remedies out their as well but are hard to get a hold of. I have Med School friends that swear by bags of IV. Injectible B6 peroxidine is also supposed to help tremendously. And there is a herbal ingredient out there called Prickly Pear Cactus Juice which has clinical backing for alcohol related issues. The problem with this shit is that if you buy it from most places the bottle only contains minute concentrations. Kudzu root is also supposed to help. And if you are one of the lucky ones that has legal access to Xyrem ...... you wont even have a hangover.

I would appreciate it if we could make the subject a sticky so we all can work together to end hangovers worldwide.
 
First off thats more work than a workout just to not get a hangover. My method which works for me 3 times a week every week is as follows. Make sure you are hydrated before you go drinking. When you are done drinking, eating helps. Im a fan of pizza when im drunk. Something to the tune of 3 or 4 slices. Then start with the water before you pass out. I like to down as much as possible. I wake up in the morning, take a piss a cup of coffee and take a nice crap and feel Great. Never had a hangover following this method no matter how much i drink.
