Hair Removal.....

Jenscat, there's this lotion called "Bikini Zone" you can get at Shoppers Drug Mart, ever try it? If you put it on right away after shaving, stings a little but it works amazing to prevent bumps. For ingrowns, I think exfoliating is the only way to prevent it.. not sure though. :)

Hi Mrs P!! Thanks for the tips -- but does shaving with the growth of the hair remove it all?? I find that when I do that, I just leave stubble -- mine never comes completely off. Plus the irritation.......I get ingrowns no matter what I do in the bikini & underarm area constantly

The first pass is with the grain, then I do a second pass kind of diagonally (not completely against the grain, but almost) and this removes the hair so that there is no stubble. I only need to do this on the upper part (mons pubis) and where the thighs meet the outer lips, on the lips my hair grows straight out so there is no against the grain to worry about. Keeping the skin pulled tight with the other hand also helps you get a smooth shave.

Thanks Mrs P & Seashell!! I'll look for that Bikini Zone stuff at my local store since we don't have a Shoppers Drug Mart here....but probably Walmart will have it....

Guys, did any of you see Extreme Makeover last night? The Hawaiian girl had what I assumed was laser treatments for her chin and upper lip and they said 6-8 repitions would permanently removed the hair. Is that accurate?

Another guestion is has anyone ever tried those home electrolosis gadgets and how well did it work for you?

I saw it Anya! Love that show, though it always make me cry. (Yeah I'm a wuss, I know) But I don't know the answer to your question about the laser.. sorry. Looks liked it hurt though, she kept jumping each time they lasered her. :eek2: :)

I use an electric shaver for "down there"...it's one of those nice ones that pivots every which way...it gives a pretty close shave, and I don't get ingrown hairs or nasty red bumps, which I did get when I shaved with a razor, even when I didn't go against the grain.

Bikini Zone also makes a shave gel for the bikini area that I use religiously. I never get razor burn or any ingrown hairs down there and i shave evry other day. its the beststuff.

I have a friend who does laser hair removal....so she does my bikini line and arm pits free. I tell you what I would never pay for it. My hair won't go away....but I am a light blonde and I guess it works better on girls with the darker hair. It also hurts like hell to me lolol.....so now I just shave the crap off...less painful and works better for me...
