OK, since we are all women here (I hope) I'm gonna ask this....does anyone else have problems with ingrown hairs? Or the areas where the hair was removed not looking completely "clean" of hair?

I used to wax my underarms but couldn't stand the 3 week wait in between the waxing letting it grow back, etc cuz I wanted to be hair free & look it.....plus the waxing never slowed down the growth.....same with *ahem* down there......My skin always has the almost 5 oclock shadow look to it.....

Now that summer is coming --- EEeeeeeeeeekkkkk!!

I have to shave everyday.. down there..

But I don't have any ingrown hairs as of now.
But I've gotten everything else..LOL

That's probably next! :D

I did laser hair removal in armpit and bikini area. I've done 3 treatments so far - supposed to have @6. It has pretty much obliderated my armpit hair, but the other is a little more stubborn. The thing I like about laser hair removal is you're totally hair free for a few months afterwards. Plus, unlike waxing and other methods where you have to let the hair grow out to remove it, with laser you have to shave it off for the treatment.

How expensive is it?? Interesting......so you shave completely then get the laser treatment? sounds very effective.....is it done by a plastic surgeon??

I've heard laser hurts and is pricey-- but honestly, if I didn't have to shave all the time and didn't have the razor burn etc it would be 100% worth it. Even just to not have to shave my armpits would rock my world.

I always shower or soak in the tub for a long while before I shave to soften up my hair and I exfoliate. For the last 18 months or so I've been addicted to shaving my arms. I love feeling so soft!

It really doesn't hurt that much. I was pleasantly surprised. You have to put on this numbing creme an hour beforehand. It's expensive - I think @200 per treatment(may vary) - for the 2 areas. Go to a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist.

I definitely want laser hair removal, but for now I shave daily, except for my forearms which get done twice a week. I rarely get ingrown hairs or irritation in the pubic hair. I found that shaving daily helps prevent that, plus shaving with babyoil in that area gets it super smooth. Don't shave directly against the grain, do a once over with the grain, then again at a diagonal. I think if you go completely against the grain, that's when you tend to get ingrowns.

Hey thanks mrspuddles! I was just about to ask that question for those of you that shave the bikini area daily.. how does your skin not get psycho-irritated?

I've never been able to shave daily without discomfort. I'll try the "with the grain" not against and the baby oil. :)

Hi Mrs P!! Thanks for the tips -- but does shaving with the growth of the hair remove it all?? I find that when I do that, I just leave stubble -- mine never comes completely off. Plus the irritation.......I get ingrowns no matter what I do in the bikini & underarm area constantly
