Yeah dude...that's solid, especially for just starting out. I've been doing deads for about three weeks...4 days total. First day was 135x15, 155x12, 155x10. Damn was I sore the next day...hurt to move. Today I was up to 165x15, 255x12, 255x12, 200x15. I'm 5'9" 180lbs. I'll probably go a couple more times in the higher rep range, then throw a couple more plates on and pull 6-8 rep sets.
To put it in perspective I'm ~148-150 lbs and today I pulled 215 for 4 sets of 5 pretty easy. I've been deadlifting about 2 full months I guess. Last week my 1 rep max was 275, and it was an ugly pull. So you're ~30 lbs heavier than me but you are repping my max, and pretty easily.
I LOVE DEADLIFTS!!!! today you find to many pussies in the gym that don't even give it a try because they think they will blow out there back...PUSSIES!!!!!!
Congrats man. You've just entered a whole new realm of bodybuilding. Its the ones you hate that you learn to love, will pack on the strenght and size everywhere. GH was oooozing while you slept that night. What a beautifull feeling you get after heavy deads.
Don't worry about how much your pulling. Its about getting stronger and building muscle, not impressing the dude on the adductor machine next to you. Pat yourself on the back for sticking it out and getting in there to do them. Your only going to feel better doing them from here on out. Enjoy
They sure do. I love them.
I progress in the deadlift more weeks than not, for 6 months in a row now. deadlifted 358 lbs yesterday and im 16 yrs old and 6"4
Deads rule! I have just started doing them again. The last time I did them seriously was in the 8th grade haha. I am 20 years old now! I weigh about 195 and my first deads workout was 330 at 3x5. It felt very good and I know I will continue doinging them seriously.
