Gun rights people, do you really need 30-75 round ammo clips?

Sport shooting. Sometimes its fun to tear off 50-75 rounds at paper target, or whatever it is youre shooting.
Just like its fun to tear off 150mph on a motorcycle or car. Do you need vehicles that can go 150+mph? No. Should we ban those vehicles because speeding in excess causes undue deaths in this country? Of course not, thats why we live in a free country with freedoms guaranteed.

You are absolutely right! However, gun ownership should require a safety class, and a license. I would bet more people are killed by cars every year than by guns. Cigarettes and alcohol as well I would bet. Screw it lets ban everything because some people are irresponsible or criminally- minded, or alcoholics or addicts or in some cases just plain stupid. Where is natural selection when we need it the most?

Let's roll with this one for a while. Citizen Manny, who has never broken a law, has a legal nuclear arsenal in his basement. This is his right under the law. What type of law should Citizen Manny have to break in order for his gun rights to be rescinded/curtailed/whatever? Speeding ticket? crime against people? property? felony?

Ummm....that's a bad example. We do ban travelling 150 mph on your motorcycle. 75 is the fastest legal speed in this country.

I'm in disbelief that someone could actually think it's necessary to have so much firepower. What are you afraid is going to happen to you? In the unlikely event that 10 people break into your home simultaneously you're not going to win a shootout with them anyway. Please explain the reasonable, practical purpose of high capacity clips?

Do you NEED a car wtih 350hp? Won't a simple 1 liter engine do just fine?
Do you NEED to eat steak? I mean you can survive on macaroni and cheese indefinately.
Do you NEED silk/wool suits? Heck bibs have been serving country folks well for YEARS.
