Gun rights people, do you really need 30-75 round ammo clips?

so if someone owns a gun that has more than 2 of the following, it means they are of militia mentality?

has a pistol grip
has a detatchable magazine
has a collapsable/telescoping stock
has a bayonett lug
has a flash supressor (this is not a silencer)
has a bipod

how do any of those make a gun more deadly?

Because like after you put all 400 rounds in the guy's chest cavity, you can use the bayonet to cut off his head like those Al Queda dudes.

The truth is NOBODY knows what they intended. The Constitution is constantly evolving with new legislation and Supreme Court decisions. The Constitution uses the generic term "arms" which would include anything from a sling shot to a nuke. Obviously it's not good for society to allow private ownership of nukes. Even James Nichols agreed with that (See "Bowling for Columbine"). So if we all agree that the constitution doesn't cover nukes, then that means that somewhere there exists a line between appropriate arms and inappropriate arms. It would therefore be up to Congress to decide where that line is drawn. Claiming the second amendment automatically gives you the right to any type of gun is a flawed argument unless you also believe that there should be no restrictions on any other types of weapons (nukes, mines, grenades, flamethrowers).

BS. When they wrote the damned thing, what kind of "ARMS" did they have? Yeah, I could just see GW with a RPG over the soldier taking on King George and his SCUDs.

Using an extreme as an example is a good way to have the remainder of your arguements and points dismissed out of hand no matter how valid they may be to the issues at hand. Plus it does nothing to further what it is you're saying, but acts as a detractor.

Some of the banned features are pointless. However, collapsable stocks make for easier concealing so that the disgruntled high school kid can get his rifle in the school undetected before shooting everyone.

Sport shooting. Sometimes its fun to tear off 50-75 rounds at paper target, or whatever it is youre shooting.
Just like its fun to tear off 150mph on a motorcycle or car. Do you need vehicles that can go 150+mph? No. Should we ban those vehicles because speeding in excess causes undue deaths in this country? Of course not, thats why we live in a free country with freedoms guaranteed.

all civilian rifles must have atleast a 16" barrell, so even with a telescoping stock the overall length wont be falling below 30-32"

you cant fit that in your pocket.
