Good Fitness Program??

HI, I was wondering what is a good program to start on. I'm 6-2 250lb. What should I eat during the day and how much should I exercise I only have access to a treadmill. Also what should my ideal weight be. Thanks :clock:

There is no ideal weight. It depends on numerous factors which those BMI charts don't take into account. Do you know what your bodyfat percentage is? That will give you a better estimate to an ideal.

You will most likely recieve many posts asking for your full stats and goals. Such information is needed before proper advice can be given. Are you a muscular 250lbs or more chubby 250lbs? That makes all the difference in the world. Since you are asking for help I will assume the last one. Not trying to offend, mind you.

What is your metabolism like? What is your diet like right now?

IF you can answer these, that would be a good start.

BTW, you don't have ANY access to weights?? In my opinion/experience you really need to. Adding weightliftiting to your program is a win-win situation.

Good luck,

Paulo

Paulo, Thanks for the reply. Well I use to be chubby in high school. I lost over 40 lb in a month and a half after. Never once did I lift or walk etc. In 1998 I got a Golds Gym membership I worked out 6 days a week 1 to 2 hours depended on what I worked on that day. I watched what I ate took in the proten I needed. Finialy I got down too 185 with 11 to 12% body fat which I really think was loose skin I received when I lost my weight quickly. I gained my weight back will say real loose in the tummy and "love handels". I tried to go on a diet and take pills like Stacker ll etc. but it did not seeme to work. So I was wondering if there is still hope for me. I cant bench press like I want do to a football injery I got in my shoulder. I dont have a membership anymore Golds shut down any really dont have a spoter I can take with me. Sounds like a lot of excuses so what should I do?

Well, it sounds like you may hoave found something that works for you. So, do what you did the first time around. Although, I would cut back on the gym a little.

Are there any other gyms in your area? There are tons of excercises that don't require spotters and if you really need one, usually one of the trainers will assist you. Use the power rack. Or, if you absolutely have to, the Smith machine. I know that they are not reccomended on here, but they are better than not doing anything.

www.exrx.net is full of excellent info. They list exercises by body part and even have little videos of execution.
