Gonna try this 5x5 stuff

Agreed, and I might drop Flat Bench from your chest day entirely, seeing as how you're doing plenty of Incline and Dips, as well. Do you really feel that there's something Flat will hit that Incline and Dips didn't?

hmm, I might alternate back and forth between flat bench and lying cable flyes on different weeks. I just want to make sure my tendons and ligaments are use to heavy weight.

t3c: I am lower back heavy and need to work on my upper back some more.

Leather I will most likely do 5x5 now that I think about it for close-gripp and finish off with pushdowns 2x10

since no one else mentioned it i will........

i dont really like the idea of doing back work day one, and then turning around the next day and doing biceps.

just seems they would be able to work as hard.

I agree. Bis get smoked pretty hard doing what LS is doing for back. Even more so if the rows are done Yates.

personaly I don't really like bis so I don't train them that hard;)

Actually my bis don't get sore from back that much at all. I might think of another split then but I do like that I can really put full effort after chest since I don't pefatigue bis.

has anyone tried the modified 5x5? BLKWS6 and I are doing 3x5 followed by 1x8 for our compound movements. The accessory movements are the same. I find that this is a great varation and the it seems like size increases are better too. In addition since you are only doing 3x5 you can use heavier weights. Needsize was trying this a while ago and I believe that he had quite positive results as well.

So instead of doing 5x5, you do 5x3, then you remove one of the accesory exericises and only do one for each muscle? That would cut down the sets quite a bit as well as save time. If that really works as well as the actual 5x5 routine then I would certainly consider. Only doing 6 sets for cheast just seems like too little.
