Glute Ham Raises... what are these?

and to make those harder elevate the end where your feet are, with boards or plates.

Yes, you would think that would make them harder, wouldn't you? I get damn near nothign out of these things. I think, when benchmonster and the okie crew were here, I had a plate, a band around my neck, and the back elevated, and I still wasn't "feelin the burn."

Well I have to raise them on 4-5boards since I'm used to doing them, it means your hamstrings are strong, try comeing up halfway and arch as hard as you can and hold it for 3 seconds, only come up to where your torso is slightly above parallel.

Yeah....static holds on there are harder. I started doing something like 21's on the GHR. It's almost like a hyper to that sticking point for 7, then sticking point to top for 7, then full GHR for 7 (with a plate). That seems to work.

Otherwise, I have to prefatigue with SLDLs or Pullthroughs. THEN I feel it! Whew!

Any kind of hint on what kind of device you would be able to concockt to do said exercise, without having to spend $600-$1000 on a GHR machine? Just curious.

When I do them, I start out with my waist bent 90 degrees (like the start of a hyperextension). The girl in the movie was starting with her waist straight.

BTW, I bought a Yukon GHR from the local fitness store for $159. You ca order them from their webpage too. Just as good as the expensive ones.
