This was written in Dan Duchaine's, Ask the Guru, section in Ironman. Caffeine interferes with creatine transport beause it inhibits tyrosine kinases, necessary enzymes for nutrient transport. Here is an added tip. These are his suggestions for creatine use:
.)Use no more than five grams at a time, fully dissolved in about a cup of hot liquid. Liquid creatines or micronized creatines have no benefit over a high-quality creatine powder; however, effervescent creatine is more soluble.
.)Make sure that you take one of the creatine does immediately after exercise.
.)Choose barley malt extract or maltodextrin as carb source.
.)Use 25 milligrams of ephedrine with each creatine dose.
.)Use one milligram of triac with each creatine dose.
.)Use about 250-500mg of sodium with each creatine dose.
.)Avoid all soy protein and caffeine while using creatine.
.)Find a source of 3-guandinopropionate.
The triac and ephedrine have been identified as upregulators of creatine transport, as well as clenbuterol. The 3-guandinopropionate is supposed to stop the downregulation of the protein transporters, of creatine.
