GlucorellR {R+ ALA} and First PWO Meal

hmm i guess ill just have to be re-scheduling my intake of CLA/GLA ...

i usually have a protein shake right before bed along with some fish oil caps ... but eversince i started out on GLA, i stopped.

what i'll probably do is ill just take my CLA in the morning and GLA bolus at night.

im gona start on GT again soon once my t-rex is gone. somehow i cant sleep at night if i take both GT and t-rex on the same day :mix:

Fonz,
whats the advantage of taking GLA on an empty stomach at night comapred to taking it with emals throughout the day ?

W/meals

It increases then thermic effect of the meal from the normal 10% to about 20%.

Remember that calories are dissipated in the digestion process through heat loss(thermogenesis)

GLA increases the thermogenic value of a meal via BAT activation.

AT night/

Slighlty lowers blood glucose so that insulin levels also drop slightly(They are normally directly related ..all things being equal)
Lower insulin levels = Greater lipolysis.

Also. GLA blocks the production of series 2 prostaglandins(PGE2)(The bad ones) and shifts the normal 1:1 PGf2A:PGE2 ratio to the PGF2A side.

PGF2A, as we all know is VERY lipolytic.

So, at night you get the benefits of decreased insulin levels, blood glucose, and increased lipolysis.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the drop in insulin/Blood glucose is caused by the shift to the PGf2A side of the normal 1:1 prostaglandin ratio.

I just added 45mg of VS to each of my two PW meals in addition to the 300mg Glucorell I've been taking. I take both VS and r-ALA 10 minutes prior to my PW shake (75g dextrose), and 10 minutes prior to my chicken and brown rice (75g carbs) 90 minutes later.

If I feel the VS is making a difference I'll report back.

Vanadyl Sulfate is severely out-dated and not worth taking.

If you're going to take a vanadium supplement try to find the more biologically available forme of vanadium called (BMOV).

BTW, vanadyl Sulfate is toxic if taken for a long enough time.
