getting lean again; postcontest pig out

skinnyfat

New member
I have been pigging out for a couple of months, and have gained over 10 lbs in a period of 6 weeks. I wonder, though, if I go back to eating the calories I used to, which was basically maintenance for my weight, will I get back down to that weight, or do I have to cut calories further to lose the weight first, then go back to eating how I used to?

Also, how soon can I expect to lose those 10 lbs? I know one pound a week is probably too slow, because some of it is water.

you can actually eat what you ate before at maintenance to get back to that weight, since now that your heavier you new maintenance is larger than your old one, however it may take longer to reach back to you old weight if the difference between you curreent maintance cals and you old maintaince cals isn't sufficient.

skinnyfat,
If you only gained 10 lbs. count yourself lucky! I gained 30 lbs. between Sat night of the show and Thursday morning! i am using a CKD for @ four weeks, to get back to "normal".

I expect 2.5 lbs/week when cutting. It's impossible to comment about someone else because everyone has a different metabolism.

I'd agree that a maintenance calorie/lower carb diet works well.
