In their defense, there have been a lot of tv shows on the topic of "female circumcision".
This is a mutilating procedure, cutting off the clitoris, practiced in Africa on small girls,
and basically robs them of the ability to enjoy sex later in life..
There's a lot of people speaking out against the practice
and some fear that some immigrants to here are still practicing it, bringing it with them.

The problem with outlawing it, is it's similarity to male circumcision. No legislator wants
to piss off the whole jewish constituency outlawing that .

I went to college in Carrollton. For starters it's a dry county (beer & wine only) so we had to drive to Alabama for the good shit....only 15 minutes away. You want to know why there are no sorority houses at Univ. of West Georgia? Because in Carroll county more than 4 unmarried women living under the same roof is considered a house of ill repute. That's whorehouse for you slowpokes.

You're actually going to use that as a defense for this legislation? A 2 - 20 year prison sentence for voluntary piercing? And these, supposedly intelligent, politicians only view one form of information to make this sweeping of a law?

John that has absolutely nothing to do with their reasoning. That legitimate issue is one that they used to create a much needed bill to which they attached this other crap. They cheapen and degrade the entire issue of female circumcism by attaching this garbage to it. Involuntary removal of a girl's clitoris is about men controlling women's sexuality, but women voluntarily having their clitorises pierced is about us taking charge of our own sexuality, and in many cases actually enhancing our sexual gratification. Two completely opposite circumstances.
