Full time job personal training at New York Sports Club

Well after leaving Bally's several months ago and working here and there as an independant trainer and part time bouncer I got a new personal training job. Full time with benefits. Anyone else here work as a trainer at a New York Sports Club? How is it there overall working for the company?

Work starts tommorow! Can't wait. :D

Total congratulations, bro!!! Best of luck with it. Maybe I'll find a way to stop in and say hi next time I'm in the city.. oh, wait, that's gonna be tomorrow. :)

Are you straight commission or are they going to pay you hourly also? Congrats anyway

Well they pay your hourly and if you really want to get paid you have to make sales. The more sales you make the more you make hourly. Like for every client you train during that hour you get paid like 20$ or so. But if you're not training anyone than you get paid less. I'm not 100% sure of everything yet. I start tommorow and they're going to show me around and tell me everything I need to know.

I'm just happy. Fun job. Good atmoshere. I love the gym atmosphere. Pretty good money with benefits. Potential to get paid more and move up in P.T. position. I'm pretty stoked. :garza:

Hours aren't bad either. I requested working earlier instead of evenings even though I know there is more business in the evening. I'll be fine though. I work from around 11:00-1:00 until 7:00 at night. Weekends off. 30 plus hours here is considered full time so I get benefits either way. At Bally's you needed 40 hours no matter what to get any benefits.

Only thing I don't want to do is attend the "sales learning" class. 9-5 for 6 days. I know my shit I don't need it. Oh well.....

is this club affiliated with The Sports Club LA and the spinoff locations of the original? If so, they are pretty much the nicest(and most expensive) gym I have been in.

good luck with your job, I hope you work with some hot clients or trainers! :p
