Full or partial deads? which are best for mass?

Some people have said that partial deads are the best for mass since

a)Lower back contracts isometricly and thus range of motion isnt important. Partials allow you to put 100s of extra pounds and thus the muscles have to work much harder.

b) Your traps, your lats, your grip works isometricly as well so range of motion isnt important too,,

howeever with partial deadlift legs get involved really bad, but even with full rom deadlift the legs go through very partial rom anyways...

What is your opinion?

WHICH IS BEST??!!

reply please! thanx!

Partial reps provide only partial strength. The concept of time under load for contraction of actin and myosin is based on time. Since mass is full recruitment of muscle fiber and the slight damaging of these fibers more time with the weight increases the size that some will gain.

Many people lift with low reps and high weight to hypertrophy their white muscle fibers, but this is most usefull on areas which have a high amount of these.

In the back many of the muscles are type 2 or FOG, not really white explosive muscle fibers but not endurance either. So time does matter when lifting these.

Also full range of motion will ensure that no certassin part of the fibers are train to much in comparison to another area.

Partials may be helpful after full range of motion sets, just to fatigue the muscle more but they should not be the staple of your routine.....

You say that lower back has more endurance type fibers??

That is a big mistake. For me , anything over 6 reps is considered "going for reps"

Especially for full deads, I struggle to get over 6 reps. I have to drop most of the weight to do that.

For example not long time ago I could do 315 pounds fo r 6 reps. to do 7 usually had to do 225 pounds dead. STUPID....

And partials DID increase my full rom dead a bit.....

confusing....

Lots of people say to do partials...because they are better? Naaaa...they are not better...they are just a lot easier. A lot easier!!!!

Pull them from the floor...and go heavy. Use your head though...always.

Hey SSALEXSS your so freakin lazy why dont you do partials. Its alot easier. Do alot of reps with light weight so you dont have to strain too hard, then get your calculator out and see if you set a new world record! 300lbs for 20 reps is better then 800 for 2 right?

If i was you i would do partial lifts it will go with your partial physique! And your easy way out mentality. Hard work is for the birds! Isnt it?

Guys know me here and i am never sarcastic but i think you are the most stupid guy i have ever heard. I do hope your a kid and will learn what training is all about. If your grown and have experience then i hope you keep it to yourself so you dont foul up anyones lifting like you have your own.

Ouch!!

SSAlexSS,
if you have taken any physiology course you would know that your back is comprised of many muscle groups, not all are white fibers. If they were all white fibers you would never be able to stand straight up more than a minute at a time since they would fatigue easily. but I guess you know everything, ya right.....

I don't know how you could do 315 for 6 and then only do 225 for seven, but then again I train for strength..... not partial reps...
