DAMIT...........I JUST GOT A CALL FROM MY DOCTOR AND MY X-RAYS CAME BACK. I HAVE BOLTS IN MY ELBOW AND ITS BEEN HURTING ME FOR A LONG TIME, SO THEY TOOK X RAYS LAST WEEK. IT TURNS OUT THERE ARE STRESS FRACTURES ALL AROUND THE SCREWS AND THEY NEED TO TAKE THEM OUT. THIS WILL LEAVE HOLLOW TUNNELS IN MY ELBOW MAKING IT VERY EASY TO BREAK. I WILL BE OUT OF THE GYM FOR 2 - 3 MONTHS. I HAVE HONESTLY WORKED SO HARD AT MY BODY, THIS IS JUST DEVISTATING TO ME. ALL MY GAINS GAINS AND PLANS ARE FUCKING RUINED. WHY ME, WHY NOW. IM TRYING TO STAY HIGH SPIRITED, BUT I REALLY WANT TO JUST HIDE MY HEAD IN THE SAND........KINDA PUTS THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE.....FFFUUUUCCCKKKK.......

I FORGOT TO MENTION. WHAT MAKES THIS SO BAD IS THAT IVE BEEN USING THE GYM AS AN OUTLET FOR THE LOSS OF MY FATHER AND THE FACT MY GIRLFRIEND AND I BROKE UP AND NOW ALL ILL DO IS THINK ABOUT THEM BITH.............FUCK

JIMSBBC. I CAN DO LIGHT MOVEMENTS TO TRY AND MAINTAIN, BUT HEVY LIFTING IS DEFINEATLY OUT FOR 2 -3 MONTHS
 
couldn't you still at least train legs during that time?

and I personally have always regained all of my previous size very quickly after any layoffs, so I would assume anyone else would as well.

it really is not that big a deal - 2-3 months in the grand scheme of your life and having your arm working is nothing.
be glad you still have all your limbs functioning so that you can pound away in all caps
 
what would happen if you just leave the screws in?? does your doctor know that you lift and intend on lifting for the rest of your life? if you have to get them taken out, will you be screwed (no pun intended:) ) for lifting heavy forever (since you said your elbow will be easy to break)??
sorry to hear it bro....i know i couldn't handle news like that very easily. i hope it all turns out well for you.
 
That does suck, but 2-3 months shouldn't be that bad if the Doc says you can do maintenance with light weights while your recovering.
 
Karson, sorry to hear your troubles! When it rains it pours. Don't worry about the females, there are 10 to every 1 that screws you. Keep the faith! Your gym life is not over.
 
Its all good, bro. You have the rest of your life to train. Its not like juice is going to be made illegal or anything ;)
 
I can empathize.

I recently had a 6 month layoff due to
1) a abdomnoplasty
2) a resulting infection causing my abdomen to explode in a sea of blood
3) an appendectomy

During this time I could not do any exercise (even sex) whatsoever. I became horribly depressed and partially dependent on drugs.

Find a new outlet for your rage, and do it immediately. Find a new mechanism to express hatred or you WILL begin to turn it inward.
 
Damn Karson, that sucks. :( If you don't mind me asking, what caused you to get screws in your elbows?
 
DAMN SORRY TO HEAR.

Looks like you will be training very light for teh next year. tell them to fill in teh hoes with the bone plaster. It will help so you do not break any bones.

Listen to cleaner karson and do as he suggest email him. He has been through the whirlwind and is still kickin ass. I thought I had been through the shit till I saw his medical profile.... LOL!!!
 
Sorry to hear of your situation Karson.

Have you thought of alternative exercises while your off weight training?

How about swimming, I know it sounds kind of lame compared to weights, but at least it'll keep you fit.

Karson, seems like you got the whole board behind ya bro. Try to stay positive man and let these people help you out. I've read some good suggestions on here already (train the legs, swimming etc.) So if you can man try not to get so down cause it won't help

Dont worry about it pal, youll be back before you know it..2-3 months will seem a long time but youll hardly remember it in 6 months or so... ( By the way, you gain back any strength you've lost in super quick time as long as you eat well while your injured)

As for the other problems, it happens to everyone ...its hard, but you'll come to terms with it soon enough.

Youll get back in order soon enough. DONT GET TOO DOWN, it can be dangerous, but then dont just ignore your problems either. Think about them and be positive.

Bro, you can maintain your gains with a minimal workout once maybe twice a week. You shouldn't lose anything in the lines of mass if you eat right and get exercise. Know anyone with a bowflex or just use the machines at the gym for two months man. You can still make the best of it. Don't look at it like Oh I'm fucked. Looked at it like. Ha Ha Old fucking Murphy is trying his bullshit on me again. Well this puppy ain't going down without a fight. Good luck to you.
