Former champion bodybuilder says steroid abuse left mark on his body

how about a guy named arnold who ate dianobol for breakfast and took every juice there was. and drank beer after workouts. he is 59. what about sly stallone who juiced his balls off for rocky 4 and still looks like he's on gear. also 58 or 59. i don't believe all of these things were caused by steroids. cancer can't be proved. maybe if his heart was effected

Noone said it was easy.

When you abuse AAS you have to pay the price eventually.

That said, it depends on genetics.......alot of people get away with abuse of AAS, just like alcoholics and smokers get away with their abuse sometimes. It's dependent on what the body can withstand. Some people can't stay on 17AA for a simple 6 week cycle without getting elevated liver enzymes, other people stay on them for years without problems.

Genetics, roll of the dice, nugga.

LOL the funny thing I see is it doesn't say if he smoked or drank or anything like that. There is NO scientific link between steroids and cancer or heart mumors, lol how will steroids cause a whole to form in your heart. That is usually a thing you are born with. Dam I so sock and tired of hearing the bitching about gear. Hell I here no one bitching about smoking, which kills thousands of people a day or drinking, which kills thousands of people a day and both of which are the most abused drugs in the world. People are so stupid.

You just contradicted yourself. Look, anyone who believes steroid use is without a risk is just fooling themselves. We lead risky lives, the only thing we can do is minimize the risk as much as possible by using safe amounts, getting bloodwork done regularly, and allowing the body ample amount of time off.
Steroids have side effects, and I have been one of the most vocal supporter of the idea that we should watch for them, and treat them.
High blood pressure, bad cholestrol are well known.
Prostate cancer is hormone sensitive cancer, just like breast cancer in women.
Non-Hodgekins lymphoma and basal cell carcinoma are NOT hormone sensitive, never been shown to be linked to AAS.
He has arthritis: caused by misuse of spines and joints with bad weight lifting techniques. I am obsessively careful not to put my spines under stress.
Renal failure - AAS doesn't cause renal damage. Only possible link is persistent very high blood pressure.
If you take very high doses of even OTC medicines, you may die from it.
Remember all those deaths from Ephedrine?

He probably didn't take good care of himself and is now blaming everything on AAS.

you guys are all so quick to condemn this guy for "abusing" steroids, as if you all (and I) haven't . don't be all judgemental, some day you may be telling same story.

oh, that will NEVER happen to me. don't be so sure. :o

yup basal cell carcinoma typical in fair skinned people of irish, scottish, german descent etc who have spent too much time in the sun. doubtfully any link to steroid use. growths are removed (usually from face) in doctor's office and can recur frequently.

not cancerous (malignant) but some belief there is a link to more serious forms of skin cancer. i said some, so don't you experts all jump on me.

gotta disagree with lone tree about weight training techniques having anything to do with athritis. he just had back luck and developed serious athritis. AAS use and athritis? don't buy it.

lone tree probably right on the mark about not taking care of himself. he may have been a greek god for three or four years but that doesn't give you an excuse to let your eating habits and exercise routines go to hell after your days of glory come to an end.

I am still wondering how juice caused renal failure... Lets review

He says:

1) He took juice
2)he hurt his shoulder
3) he had surgery on his shoulder
4) he deveoped a staph infection from the surgery)
5) renal failure form the staph infection
6)dialisys

So....ummm..... how did the juice cause renal failure again?
