Flaxseed Oil

I am going to buy some flaxseed oil this week. Does it really make a big differenty in burning fat. WOuld i see the result of losing fat taking the oil compared to not taking it????
I am working out and dieting right. So, how affect is this flaxseed oil and how do you all intake it????
Hope to get many replies....
 
I started taking it, kept with my regular building diet/training, and i started to look a little bit more cut. Not a whole lot, but enough I noticed it and my girl did as well. It couldnt have been more than 1% bf diffrence... It could have been another factor. Take it for its worth.
I have no idea how it would work on a cutting diet/training program.
 
Here's my opinion:

It might be a good supplement, but it sure as hell isn't worth the hassle of taking it. You have to drink the oil, and I've tried all possibilities, and I can't stand the taste or thought of drinking oil. I almost puked up that grassy tasting oil today, so I'm sending mine back, b/c I just can't take it anymore. It just isn't worth it.
 
flax seed oil will help you increase you HDL and decrease the LDL (bad cholesterol)

it won't "burn fat"
 
I take both. I take fish oil pills and eat lots of salmon. I use flax liquid gold. It taste better than any other I have tried. I put some in my morning protein shake and I mix some with olive oil and spices for a lunch time salad dressing. If you are over weight your cholesterol is probably high also.
 
i usually drink whey protein in water.

after i gulp it down, i save about 2 gulps, put the flax seed oil in it, and just chug it down. i don't even notice any taste whatsoever.

just try to get it over with quick, and hope you don't catch any after taste. if you do, there's always toothbrush and mouthwash to help you with it.

We take the oil for two purposes:
1) General overall health
2) 'Empty' caloires.

When dieting you DO NOT want to cut you cals too fast! You will lose a lot of muscle if you do cut too many cals! So you bring in good fats (flax and E. V. Olive oil) and decrease your carb intake (slowly). This change in your diet will cut your carbs but not your total cals. Your body will become a better fat (stored fat on your body) burning machine. You can change you're bf% without cutting cals (too much) by adding 'good' fats and decreasing carb intake.

This is a better (more strict) way to losing fat than thermo supps.
 
Mix it in a cup of soup/gritz. It works well, tastes pretty good and it does help a great deal. It also helps you if you are impotent or almost impotent. It will also help you from loosing hair and will help your mental capacity.

It will also help women who have a hard time reaching orgasm. Try it ladies, you will have orgasms any time you like once you are on it for a few weeks.

Also, if you have little babies, put a tea spoon in their formula and mix it with a blender or shaker. Your babies will grow strong and very healthy.
 
The two main things I noticed from it were increased/better mood, and increased capacity for recovery. Meaning before using my training split I would every couple of weeks have a day where I was just dragging-you know the feeling. Now I can't wait to get back in the gym and have to add days to keep my desire for training satisfied. Even on my light days I have to hold myself back from going heavy.

So if that ain't worth a yucky taste a few times I day I don't know what is.

Oh BTW the banana thing in the shake works GREAT.

For those other times try this: put a TBsp in a shot glass. Fill with grapefruit juice. Shoot. If you need to refill the glass with the juice and reshoot. Problem solved.

Finally, make sure the stuff is fresh (under 45 days old) and has been refrigerated since it was pressed. Barlean's is a very reputable company.

forget the flaxseed oil,just use dry flaxseed!

forget the flaxseed oil and just use dry flaxseed. or grind it up and mix it in everything your bake or cook.Start out woth 1/4 cup of flaxseed flour-(ground up) flaxseed. sprinkle it over cereal or mix it with a hot beverage,but drink it quickly as it will jell a cup of coffee or hot chocolate in under 2 minutes.
You will experience more internal gas production,and more trips to that small room in your house daily,but within a month you should once again be able to see your toes again!.

you're right

flax = flax seed oil (omega 3s) + fiber

and less expensive
longer shelf life
no need to keep refridgereted

I have already responded to a similar suggestion in another thread so....

heat destroys EFAs, which are the main reason most people take flax. Therefore you should not heat anything you put flax into if you want to keep all the benefits.
