Fitness girls.. how do you train your abs and back?

Hi to everyone!
I'm interested in knowing what type of training do you fitness girls do for your abs and back to get that competitor's look? that you know it is not like the bodybuilding type of look?
Thanks in advance for any advice :)

You can train like a bodybuilder and not look like one unless you're genetically gifted or taking gear.
For more info on the exercises buy Oxygen mag from this month.

Girl, it's all about diet, cardio and weight training! Everyone has stomach muscles. Exercises will help to strengthen and sculpt those muscles, no doubt, but it's mostly diet and cardio if you're looking for those abs to come out.

As for getting that "bodybuilder look", which I assume you're relating to as "mass", you're mistaken if you think that by weight training you'll become Hercules overnight. It won't happen then or after a month or ever! Women are not genetically (naturally)made to become 'huge' - that's probably the number one misconception about bodybuilding and women.

by "bodybuilding type"... Im refering to the category of bodybuilding figure for women which is very different from the fitness category. I'm seeking to compete next year, I've seen in the competitions that the back is together with the abs regarding symmetry they look to be less in size than the legs... that is what I'm refering mostly to.

Are you talking about NPC fitness or a different federation? NPC fitness women have pretty decent backs and abs, so I'm not sure what you're asking.

I think the primary goal for figure (bodybuilding or the NPC version) and fitness is a balanced physique - the legs shouldn't look out of proportion with the back and abs. The big difference is you never see the fitness women posing (flexing) in a way that really shows their backs and abs to their full potential.
