First time squatting with a belt. Not sure about this.

I have a new Inzer 13mm lever belt. Today I tried it out on some light squats, and my first impression is that this is one uncomfortable belt. I expected this, it's a beast. I don't really care if it hurts, I just want it to work.

Here's my problem: Squats were harder with the belt on. Depth was harder to reach, and I leaned forward too much in the hole. I sometimes went forward onto my toes a bit. I never do this without a belt, even with heavy squats. Do I have it cranked too tight? Do I just need to break it in more? It was kind of digging into the front of my hips too. That didn't help me get in the hole either.

I'm not sure if Inzer belts are compatible with Olympic squats, maybe the belt is designed for a powerlifting squat.

Could have the belt a little to low as well. I ran into that problem when I went to the 13mm as well. Now it's like a second skin.

I tried it out again today on some really light squats and it felt a lot better. I wore it a little higher this time. Which makes sense, because it's for my abs to push against, not to keep my pants up.

I read an article by Dave Tate (I think) where he said he likes to use a belt to teach pushing the stomach out. I see what he's talking about, because it's a lot easier to feel that you are doing it right when you have something to push against.

I do know about belt sizes, but when I'm squatting, I like to feel like the belt is almost depriving me from air supply. I feel more confident that my back is safe and can therefore squat better.
