Finally I have won the "battle" with my weight!!!

Hi Ladies:) I just wanted to share with you my story about how I have finally won my "battle" with my weight. And you know how I did it? I STOPPED FIGHTING! I finally chose to embrace my body and to excersize and workout for fun and to eat properly to feel healthier and more energetic. The moment I stopped fighting and starving myself (alternating with periods of bingeing), and I stopped going to the gym focusing on how my body was going to change by beating the shit out of it, was the moment my body began to respond. I am now inline skating 3-4 times per week for upwards of 2 hours, not because it is good cardio, but because I love it! It's my "me time", I listen to music, look at the beautiful river and watch passerby, I feel truly happy on the path. I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week because I like how I feel afterwards and I like challenging my body. Never do I think about my weight issues while doing these things.

I have now upped my carbohydrate intake and am eating tons more fruits and vegetables, as well as whole grain pasta and brown rice. I feel better than I have in years, and it's all because I finally started FEEDING MY BODY!!! I have lost over 40 pouinds in the past year and am now working on the last 12. Funny thing is the more I avoid the scale and simply focus on health and wellness the better I seem to look.

I know that I will never be 185 lbs again, because I know I never want to feel that tired and unhealthy again. My advice to all of you ladies is to stop fighting your body and to feed it and to work with it. Focus on health not weight, and believe me the weight will come off.

Congrats girl!

I guess it depends on your goals as far as what you are fighting. I'm afraid if my goal is competition, my "weight" is part of the deal as it is one of the parameters that is relevent to my goals. But regardless, you are right - if your lifestyle supports your goals, the goals are an inherent part of your lifestyle!

Well congrats on that! I am with you too... I had been weighing in all the time then over a month time I noticed my weight going up slightly by the week (due to increase in weights and ummm... prob that darn bulk isle at Whole Foods) so i quit going to that store and quit weighing in and noticed that I also feel and look a bit better! :)

Well done x

It feels awesome when something stops being something you're doing purely as an effort and instead because you actually enjoy it.
